Introducing permiegirl
Greetings to all h2g2 readers. I live in Australia and as my 'name' suggests I'm interested in permaculture. I am in the process of setting up a suburban permaculture farm. Currently I have fruit and nut trees, native Australian vegetation and vegies and herbs. The vegies are mostly sprouts from my buried compost - cheap, hardy and easy. The next step will be chooks, a very important part of permaculture design. One of the main principles is that each element will ideally have at least three functions. Chooks are a good example of this: eggs, compost(poo), weeding, pest eaters and meat. I'm probably too much of a softie to carry out the last one. I have my computer right next to a back window and I can look out and see my back yard. At the moment the fig tree is providing its nightly feast for a great variety of noisy birds. Life is grand and I am looking forward to making contact with other h2g2ers who love life, the universe and everything in it. Well, maybe not everything but I think you get my drift.
