Hello DL!
Have you ever considered joining The Language Thing? (It's got nothing to do with the Th*ngies.)
The German Department is to be found here:

Thought you might be interested.

Hallo DL!
DarkListener - Honorary Protector of Sunday Posted May 5, 2005
yea, i saw that when i browsed the society list and wonderd what exactly it was... so.. in fact... what exactly IS it? I understood it has something to do with teaching languages? Not sure if im much of a good teacher, you know... :S
Hallo DL!

You needn't teach if you don't want to. You can just go there and conversate a little in German (with native and non-native speakers). Here is the speaking thread: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F1832046?thread=431827&latest=1 Just have a look... If you want to join go here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F1832046?thread=431829 Everything you post in German must be translated into English, that's due to the house rules (and of course it's helpful for non-native speakers). Any questions?

Hallo DL!
DarkListener - Honorary Protector of Sunday Posted May 16, 2005
well, its just that im german, so i think i dont need to lern and i don think im muh of a good teacher, so i wont teach and then speaking is the only option left...
And your not geting on my nerves at all, just so you know.
Hallo DL!
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted May 16, 2005
I now wrote a massage for Kat (hope she'll read it) that you want to be added as Speaker, I hope that's ok.
I've got some problems with teaching too, but mine rather are "WHAT shall I teach them?"
It's easier when somebody has a question, but now the beginners thread is silent since a few days and I feel that I have to do something...
(another problem is that I know how grammar works most of the time, but not how all this stuff is called)
Hallo DL!
DarkListener - Honorary Protector of Sunday Posted May 16, 2005
Well, my problem is that i actualy have no idea how grammar works, i just know how things need to be done, but i dont know why...
Hallo DL!
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted May 16, 2005
well, yes, that's a problem too, but I could overcome that after some thinking, at least until now. Unfortunately I'm rather new in the Department too, but it seems like I have to keep all that going now. I really hope I will manage to do that.
But you don't have to care about that, youst help to keep the conversation in the speaking thread and the game going.
Hallo DL!
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted May 17, 2005
Thanks.
Yes, she was the Head of Department, but as she's got her exams right now, she's got no time to come here. And so Kat asked me to do it. I was surprised, because I've only been to the Department for a few days, but I'll try to do it.
