Hello Sailor!

Hi, Merlin - Steve,

I liked the piece you put in Peer Review very much, and will look forward to reading more. I am not sure it is suitable for the Edited Guide, but I will let others more experienced be the judge of that. It would certainly be a contender for a series in smiley - thepost our magazine/newspaper - here:

What part of Cornwall are you in? It is my favourite place in the UK, and I had many a happy holiday there. Friends lived there too, and it has a special place in my heart.

My nickname came about because I was watching the Global Challenge Round the World Yacht Race at the time of signing up with h2g2 exactly five years ago.

Stick around, I think you will find lots to interest you and many people with whom you have something in common.

smiley - cheers

I used to live in Helston; back when I fixed helicopter sonars for a living. The trip on Motley got me as far as Cartagena, Colombia; a beautiful, colonial city, where I fell into the oldest trap known to sailors. I now live in Turbaco, a small cow town just south of Caretagena.

If you like vitual sailing; have you tried liveskipper.com? you can sail a virtual yacht around the world! Try it; you never know...

Thanks for the nice things you said about "Unsure of my position". I'm currently writing the final chapter (Cartagena). I just wanted an opinion from someone who's not emotionally/financially dependent upon me.smiley - winkeye

Thanks for taking the time to read it and tell me.

All the best,

Steve.
