Ho Bob,

First; Merry Christmas! Second; thanks to the positive feedback, I've had the balls to submit a brief synopsis of the book to about twenty literary agents. I got blown off nineteen times but one of them has asked me for some chapters to read and a more detailed synopsis, mini biography, etc.

Thanks to you and everyone else who read the first chapter and were kind enough to reply. Many, many thanks. I'm not published yet, not by a long chalk but I may have another step towards that goal. This just might turn out to be my best Christmas ever.

Merry Christmas again.

I've been asked by another agent to submit a couple of chapters and a synopsis! This getting unreal. I need to sit down for a minute, this is going to my head!

I also found a community called Authonomy; do you know anything about it? It's been created by HarperCollins to find new writers who may not come to light in the established system (and also, I suspect, to avoid paying agents fees and having to deal with them at all). I can see where it may be very convenient for HarperCollins to deal directly with green authors instead of having to hammer out contract terms with a wily old campaigner.
