Hey, I'm an ACE, supposed to help out people who are new to h2G2....so you can ask me any questions you have.
What Terry Pratchet have you read? I especially liked Mort, but I haven't read the newer ones.

Hi there I haven't got any questions as yet, but I'm sure they'll be quick in coming.
Pratchett that I've read... I think just about all of the Discworld series, up to Carpe Jugulum or The Fifth Elephant (the Fifth Elephant is the latest one published here in the States), I've also read the Bromeliad Trilogy, Only you Can Save Mankind, and Stratus. Oh, and Good Omens, of course. Which, last time I checked, is back in the script stages of being a "major motion picture."
Somewhat unrelated to that, I also have a large poster of Death I haven't hung on the wall yet. I ordered that from Steve Jackson Games when they released their Discworld G.U.R.P.S. book (which I didn't get). I also have the Streets of Ankh-Morkpork, but I haven't dared open that.
I don't think I could cite one as being a favorite, though. Although Reaper Man just might top out for that. With Mort being a close second. And you may as well toss Soul Music in for #3. It's probably because the idea of Pratchett's Death is very attractive to me.
Oh yeah, I also have the first two Discworld adventure games (well, for the PC, not the first one that was available, I think, on the C64). I'd love to get my hands on the third one.

Death is a wonderful character I should get aroun to reading soul reaper. The friend I borrow them from has a den simply full of books, but she can never find them. I wait to be given them.

You should try and wait less Reaper Man is, I think, excellent. And very poignant, if that's the right word. Also, Soul Music is also great although sad in a way.
And a minor correction: I think I called the book Strata "Stratus." I'm not too swift first thing in the morning, but the book is indeed called Strata.

Yes, I should probably just go to the library. My public library doesn't have one of the best collections I've seen though. It's pretty limited.

Hi again,
I agree that the Death books are probably the best one's but I think the Watch is a close competitor

Ah yes. I find Captain Vimes to be an entirely enigmatic type of character. He seems like he has an interesting history that hasn't been touched upon. He also seems quite easy going until you get him really pissed off. I finished Carpe Jugulum not too long ago, and I was proud of the guy.
I would like to find out more about Vimes' past. Why he become a watchman, what happened that turned him into a drunkard and made him less an officer, than a guy that sat at a desk drunk or run away from trouble.
I've also been missing the Wizards lately.

Was Vimes in Carpe Jugulum. Don't you mean "the fifth elephant."
I agree that Vimes is a very curious character. Detritus is coming in to his own as well now, rather than just filling the typical dumb troll role. And don't we all just love Angua.
Anyway, the wizards. Do you mean the faculty of Unseen University. They were last seen in "The last Continent." The best one is the librarian of course.

Ooops. Yes, I meant The Fifth Elephant. I read them back to back and got a tad confused.
Yep. The whole faculty of the UU would be nice to see again. But really, I'm happy to see all the different characters and groups. I'd like to see if another one will be created, or if TP will stick to the common ones. And more CMOT Dibbler.
I think we're caught up on Pratchett here in the States. At least, I don't think that anything else has been published that we don't have (aside from the earlier non-DW works).
Key: Complain about this post
