Old Dragons
Neo PetsWe have been approached by a good friend to talk about the subject of Old Dragons. She has this sanctuary place for them it seems, but why anybody should want a house full of scorchmarks and tar stains on the chesterfield is beyond my comprehension.
I thought she was being personal at first, you know how some of the younger members of the Women's Institute are these days, no tact or decorum like those of us who have some experience of life.
Richard was most offended, so much so that he turned quite red and began to convulse. Honestly, if he hadn't assured me so fervently afterwards that he was quite sure she hadn't meant it the way he first thought, I might have suspected his shoulders were shaking with laughter!
Anyway, Old Dragons, what did I say, oh yes, she runs this home for unwanted dragons, poor things, why people get them for Christmas and then abandon them I'll never know, but that's human nature for you! I swear - people should be made to take pet-care classes and inspected before they take in poor defenceless little animals, - not that Dragons are defenceless, [or little] and they do make such a lot of , um, you know - mess, and erm - ah - smell! But they save a great deal of money on central heating and garden fertiliser.....
Well, really, that's all I know right now, But I shall be investigating ... I've been watching that Hetty Wainthrop, - now there's an intelligent woman ....
