Hello. I'm 25, female and Scottish. I'm a trainee archivist and engaged to an Englishman.
Sophie Hatter is not my real name, but the name of a character in a book by Diana Wynne Jones called Howl's Moving Castle. She's quite like me, though, and all the acceptable variants on my own name seem to be taken. And I'm rubbish at thinking up aliases. Really rubbish.
I've been meaning to come and look at this site for ages, but have only got around to it so I can save my games on the HitchHiker's Guide computer game, which I'm very much enjoying. I like puzzle-type games and haven't played a text adventure for years.
I'm a constant reader. Ask me anything about writing by Shakespeare, John Donne, Lindsey Davis, Jane Austen, John Buchan, Isaac Asimov, Dickens, Anne Tyler, Garrison Keillor, Douglas Adams, Robert Louis Stevenson, Neil Gaiman or of course Diana Wynne Jones, and I may well tell you more than you wanted to know. (This list is not in any order, nor is it exhaustive...) I also like popular science and history.
