Student project

Basically I came across the entry A134957 and, since it's rubbish and was written almost 10 years ago, I think it needs an update and I'm asking you lovely people if there's anyone who wants to give me a hand. smiley - smiley

Songs of Praise, BBC 2, 4.35 pm...

That is when my school choir is being shown in the final of the BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year Competition. So you all better watch it and tell me how good we were.smiley - winkeye

I may be in it, if I am I'm probably throwing clay into a pond and keeping a safe distance away so as not to get splashed by the people already in the pond. I'm in the choir bit as well but that bit was more fun to film.smiley - smiley

So everyone watch it!

(We're the purple ones by the way)

We've got the beeeeest choir, in the land!...

...we've got the beeeest choir in the land!
we've got the beeeeest choir in the land!
we've got the best choir in the laaaaaaaaand!!!

This weekend my school choir won the BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year award for 2007 up in Manchester!! How amazing is that!!!smiley - wow

I don't know how we did it, 2 days before we didn't even know all the words and there we were on stage in our new matching suits and everything singing our hearts out to Malcolm Archer and Katherine Jenkins, who by the way is *fit* in real life!

And this is like a proper big deal, Songs of Praise is a real thing and we're involved and we won, and we got a trophy and some prize money, they're making an episode just on us and we're singing in a concert in the Royal Albert Hall which will be shown half in October and half on CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!smiley - wowsmiley - somersaultsmiley - wow

OH MY GOD!!! *does a jig of ecstatic happiness*

And we made our conductor cry, which for us is the biggest achievement we could have hoped for!!!smiley - bravesmiley - biggrin They're showing it all on March 11th and 18th after they edit it. Wow, I'm going to be on tv with a shiny purple tie. smiley - biggrin

Sit down, shut up, stop talking!

That's practically all I've been hearing over the past 3 weeks because of my school musical.

We have this thing with our shows where about 3 weeks before it starts it's looking doubtful that we'll make it in time.

Then about 2 weeks before it looks really bad and people start panicking, probably because it's normally about then that someone drops out for reasons beyond their control and people have to shuffle around parts (those of you paying attention last year may recognise this, it's sort of a common thing now).

Then a week before it's really not looking good. People still don't have their costumes sorted, much shouting is going on, people start forgetting lines and cues and the dances still aren't going right.

Dress rehearsal, we say some amazing blunders that we've never seen before in rehearsal and that we were hoping we wouldn't see the next day in the performance.

Then... the first night.

Amazing! Such a good feeling! Almost everything went right, good show, people were very impressed and I managed to snaffle a glass of wine afterwards.smiley - winkeye

Second night, just as good, even despite the noise that apparently came from backstage at the end of one of the dances that p*ssed off the choreographer but which I didn't even hear.

Third night, the best one of all! Such an amazing show, everything went perfectly, everyone was in the right places, no one missed their spotlights on the bows and the finale in the tight lycra jazz pants and spangley golden waistcoats and glittery top hats was an incredible thing! It was flawless, it was spectacular, it was theatre!

But now I'm in the aftermath, which is quite nice because now I'll have time to do my work and all the other stuff I've been missing out on, like sleeping, but it's going to be weird not going to the theatre for rehearsals anymore. I'mm going to miss that show.smiley - brave

Now bad for my last muscial at this school if I do say so myself.smiley - biggrin
