Hello Galigan. I had something to say about your page/I wanted to talk about something/I think you're a really hoopy frood and I like your guestbook gadgety thing.*
*Please deleate or amend as appropriate.

Sorry, couldn't resist that. I spent so much time around legal paperwork years ago that drove me nuts with clauses, sub clauses, codicils and other things that made reading the stuff sooooo difficult.

Meanwhile back to you and your space. It's great! An incentive to update mine to GuideML. Once done I'll be able to adopt a fish or other pet, until then...

About all the Hitch-hiker media out there, have you listened to the books read by Douglas Adams himself? BBC put them out about four years ago. We've had Last Chance to See on our bookshelf for some time, not yet got chance to read it; it sounds like you'd recommend it.

Despite being born too late for the Hippie era I still love most of the music, but would never have had the stamina for the partying that (apparently) went on. The Hollies and The Kinks are a couple of my favourite bands, great for singing to while working.

Take care.

Hello Yvonne. By agreeing to post at this space you are not eligible to sue following any event or occurrence that may befall you in the vicinity.

Sorry, couldn't resist something technical and legal sounding. Were you a lawyer? I'm hoping to study law at university.

Thanks about my space. When I started here I saw other people's and I thought they were really good and mine was rubbish but I just added stuff to it over time and it's grown to be rather large and colourful. Anyway I like it. smiley - smiley

I haven't heard the version read my Douglas himself but I have the version with all the different actors speaking. Very good stuff. Is the DNA one a reading of the book or is it the radio series script? Oh yes, and Last Chance To See is awesome!

I heard of the music and prolific drug use, but not so much the partying. They always struck me as rather mellow folk to be honest. I know a few of the songs but not what they're called or who they're by. Great fan aren't I?smiley - erm

Do pop in some time, that take care sounded awfully final.smiley - cry

Good comeback, well phrased, totally credable. Not legal, I worked in a medical environment for some time, which is full of jargon, disclaimers, technicalities and other forms of covering one's back (have you *seen* a consent form recently?). When I worked out that medicine wasn't for me I fancied something interesting and Law would have been it, either that or HR which does have legal modules.

There's definitely a thing for colour there, yes. Have you considered Art & Design at Uni rather than Legal Studies? smiley - artist

We got the Quandry and Quintessential Phases, voiced by the original cast where possible, but haven't listened to them yet. This boxed set is the trilogy, all five parts of it, read by Douglas Adams himself, about 25 hours worth of audio brilliance. It's produced by BBC Word for Word if you want to look for it.

Don't worry about the music. You don't have to have and encyclopaedic (sp?) knowledge of it to appreciate what you like. I loved most of the Mamas & Papas stuff before I'd ever heard of the band.

Apologies if the closing sounded awful, wasn't meant to be. smiley - hug I'm used to writing to officialdom which require a Yours faithfully, or letters to friends and relations which have a Lots of love finish. Cheers or Take care is how most of my RL conversations finish.

See you around. smiley - ok

"Good comeback, well phrased, totally credable."

Thanks.smiley - smiley I haven't seen one recently but I'm vaguely aware of all the stuff they put in so there's no chance you can sue them afterwards. When you say Law *would* have been it does that mean you didn't go into it? What do you do at the moment? Sorry if I'm being slow, it's rather early in the morning for me.smiley - weird

I had considered art for subjects at school but never at uni. If I did it'd be fun but I'd feel I was wasting myself a bit. I'm in all the top sets at school so having the brains and not using them doesn't seem fair somehow. I wish I'd done art for GCSE though, especially instead of DT which was a bit rubbish for me.smiley - erm

The thing I really love about the radio series' is the proper englishness of them, and how at the end of quintessential phase everything that's not resolved from the previous phases is explained and all comes together to finish itself off. Brilliant. smiley - smiley Althugh I will keep an eye out for the DNA version you're talking about. Just wondering, have you seen the film?

"encyclopaedic" sounds about right to me. I just like the image I got of that period when we were studying it for history GCSE. You don't see much of it obviously but what I saw I liked, especially all the people standing together for what they believed in and all the other clichés.smiley - winkeye

Just a quick question, on your space you had something about India being your Dom name or something. What's that about?

It wasn't awful, just a bit final. I don't mind though as long as you don't leave me for someone with a more interesting personal space.smiley - crysmiley - winkeye See you around's fine though.smiley - ok

Just a short message to you before you head off, assuming this gets to you before then.

Have a good time. I've never been to India, only Turkey and Isreal but they were in the cooler (over there) parts of the year. We expect a full review, possibly a Guide entry, when you get back.

Whether this is work or pleasure, enjoy yourself.

See you later smiley - ok

Actually this trip is a school organised one and we're going over to build a house for a family for 10 days. The extra 4 days are for travelling. smiley - erm I'm not sure if it's the hottest time of year over there right now but it's monsoon season apparently which should be fun (smiley - erm) and there have been bombings in Mumbai which is where we're passing through so I'm a little uneasy. Apparently the worst part of it's the culture shock, seeing how the people over there live. I don't know what to expect.

Anyway, should be a good experience. See you when I get back.
