I just wanted to pop on over and welcome you as a new scout! 
Don't worry about the ceremony, it's not too painful, unless you have a problem with branding irons and blood-letting. Yes, it's quite safe; half of the people who go through it actually live. And don't worry about putting it on the calendar. You'll know it's time when the hooded minions show up at the door one night.
