Thought I'd drop by and leave a message here for you, since it's been sooooo long smiley - smiley
I see Phil got my directions and has left a message with regard to Red Sea Diving. He's a nice guy. He came up for the Edinburgh Meet last month and stayed at mine. We got on like a house on fire.
He has not long got his PADI and just returned from a trip diving in the Canaries.

Anyway, apart from that, just to wish you and yours congratulations again, and of course to see what you've been up to.

Eatsmice.

Hey there, thanks for dropping by. Had a hectic few months at the end of last year, finally ditching my shift w**k on Jan 1st. Now on 9-5 like I said before, plus on call....once I've got some VMS courses under my belt. I was really disappointed last year not to make it to the meet up in Edinburgh, but job once again got in the way.
Hopefully my new regime will allow some quality-life-time, I've already managed three games of golf this spring, beating last years entire total by two!
Good of you to send Phil in my direction, its a pity that my journal entry is still missing, since it had loads of info about diving in the Red Sea. Mind you, with the censors being around, I wonder if all my company and trade references would be hacked out.
I'll certainly be writing about this years trip. Found cyber cafe's out there, one in a pub smiley - smiley, so I might keep a daily diary going.
We had a good winter up on the Moray coast, with only three real snowman days in our little village. I reckon we're in for a cracking summer this year (touch-wood).
Off out for dinner tonight....with no worries about being on call....hooray smiley - biggrin and you can be sure I'll be having a smiley - stiffdrink
cheers

Yeah, can understand that. I'm still debating what to do with my job.
Do I come off shifts and get a normal life back but lose the extra money and time off? Or do I take the money, but hate my job? Quandry, quandry. VMS eh? Jealous that you get to do courses of choice. Currently we are in a "Sorry, that's not relevant" situation just now. How the heck do they expect me to further myself if I can't get to go on courses? Oh, yes, that's right, i forgot. I'm not allowed to better myself. I just have to do the same mundane crap as per usual and take the money and be thankful I have a job! Sorry. One of those moods.
This is precisely the reason I end up spending so much time on the PC in the house. Partly stress management, partly trying to teach myself new skills such as LINUX and HTML/XML etc.
It's been very cold down here this winter. hardly feel as though I've been warm at all. So I would like to hope you are correct and we do have a good summer for a change.
How was dinner, by the way? We had friends round on Saturday, and then had my wee nephew's christening yesterday. Needless to say I had a fair amount of the alcoholic stuff smiley - winkeye
And so onto Backshift this week. Ho hum. Speak to you later.

Roast beef and Yorkshire pud, can't beat it ! Shocking I know coming from a Scot, but two years in Yorkshire and I became addicted smiley - smiley especially the horseradish sauce.
The scan went well, our thirteen week old bump is fine and the right size for the timeframe. Expect to pop its head out on 1st October smiley - biggrin

Mind you, it was a bit scary seeing it for the first time....It's really in there!

Fatherhood seems to be racing towards me at a million miles per hour, and all I can think of is where do I put my computer room smiley - winkeye

Eatsmice.

Hey there,
Glasgow was a success. Headed down on Thursday night, so drove over to the Swedish furniture place in Edinburgh on Friday and did some useful factfinding! Lots of ideas for rooms in the house pre-baby arrival. smiley - smiley and what's more, a scheme to move my computer stuff into a BIGGER room smiley - biggrin.

Mrs eats found a few bits and pieces in Glasgow to fit her expanding tummy, but did better in East Kilbride yesterday before we came back up the road.

So yeh ...success.

Been busy yourself? and what are you getting up to in Aberdeen?

Well, it was work, drink, sleep, work, drink, sleep over the weekend, now it's rest week and I went back to the gym last night (first time in over 6 weeks), haircut yesterday, car's getting serviced today and i'm not sure what for the rest of the week, other than the usual washing clothes etc. If the weather holds, I might get the garden dug over, then again smiley - winkeye
Aberdeen is because we can, with friends, more drinking alcohol and eating lots etc. Plus I like the countryside up there. Lots of castles to visit. No real plans as yet, other than arrive Saturday afternoon, wander about, coffee in Starbucks, with a book, perhaps.
Dinner at viva Milano, preceded by drinks at Belugas, then maybe another pub. Sunday out in the car and see a bit of the countryside.
(wonder how long it would take me to get to Elginsmiley - winkeye)
Sunday evening, another few drinks, and dinner. Quite leisurly really.
back down Monday. Start nightshift again on Tuesday 11pm.
Yourself? Quiet weekend at home this time? having been galivanting around for the last few weekends?

Mixed bag this weekend. The weekend starts tomorrow afternoon with Golf, or if the weather is sunny and the sea calm, then the wetsuit comes out and snorkelling in the Moray Firth just below the house!
Bet I'll have three adams apples at the end of that smiley - smiley
Friday is a mini-reunion night in Elgin, with some long term mates/colleagues who are all back in the area again.....whisky and then B and C's.
Saturday friends from Windsor for dinner. I expect after a couple of hours in the oven they'll be just about edible.
Sunday, rolling the easter eggs.........oh...I ate mine already smiley - smiley, Grand Prix weekend? have to check, but other than that quiet day. Monday empty, but packing for Tuesday train to London.
Not doing much then! smiley - biggrin

Hi Eats. What are your finger's crossed for? First time? In my single experience the last 2 weeks drag on for years. However, once they land, it's great. You're too busy getting on with it to worry about how you're doing.
Tip - get as much slouching about done as is possible. Once they're here you wonder how you filled your days beforehand. . . .

Hey Eats, I'm sorry I haven't been about much to wish you well.
Give Mrs. Eats big smiley - hug from me. We're all rooting for you smiley - winkeye
Let us know how it goes, all the usual details etc, and naturally we want to see pics asap smiley - winkeye
Then we need to arrange the head wetting etc. (and possibly a real live one at that!)

Hey there B17, and welcome Frogbit (good moniker), nice to meetcha.

Thanks for the thoughts. Spent yesterday getting advice regarding bumpy roads and hot curries. Now a day overdue, but believe thats often the norm for a first kid.

Long walk tonight, about a mile and a half, so doing all the good things still. We see the doc tomorrow to arrange an inducing day, as they won't allow more than ten days over up here. But I don't think it'll come to that.
My colleagues were laughing this morning when I turned up yet again. I get asked by so many people during the day how its going; its tremendous the support.
What makes me laugh though is the thirty something wives who have already had one or two and are getting broody again.

Take care and thanks for the thoughts,

Sounds close. good luck mate. We were 2 weeks overdue - that bit seemed to last for ever. We tried lots of curries too. We decided that in the end they come when they want to. I'm surprised they only let you go 10 days over - given the reliability of date estimation it seems unfair. None the less, as I say, good luck, and I take it you'll be off-line for a number of weeks now.
(Oh yes you will!)
Much joy,
Frogbit.

Gah! Missed you!
Glad to hear it's going reasonably well smiley - winkeye
Frogbit, 10 days is the norm up here in Scotland. (from family and friends who have been over, 3 wee bairns induced to come out and see the world)
I would tend to agree though, they come when they're ready smiley - winkeye (thankfully not had to experience it first hand as yet)
Just let us know as and when. I'll give you a call Eats smiley - biggrin

Eatsmice.

Mrs Eats saw the doc today and has to call Dr Grays (Bilbohall Hospital) next Monday if bump hasn't arrived. They'll induce either that day or a day or so after depending on how busy they are.
Still here, no walk tonight as I went to the Dive Club ! smiley - smiley

Surfing after Frogbit, ...Oh yes I will....Insomniac by nature, and I'm getting one of those infant seats that bolts to the side of the table (read desk!) so that the youngster can surf with me.............

Bets?
