Sorry, roy, I thought I'd bring the conversation over to your space - whoever subs the entry won't find it helpful to find us nattering on there, I'm often guilty of this
When the entry came to PR, there were a LOT of gaps, which have no, by and large, been filled. Glossary entries do tend to have long PR threads attached simply because its very difficult to get every word in first time - I always think of the Blackadder episode when the first dictioary has been written. It would be nice to see entries this good go straight away, but theres always work to be done.

I do think that with the current (implicit) pressure the H2G2 staff are under there should be a fast track system for real kick-arse entries. We may not be ostensibly competing with W*K*P*D*I* but I think we all know that to prove to the BBC we're worthwhile we have to prove we're at least equal (we are better in so many ways but WKPD is famous whether it's better or not). That Cricket entry is exactly the sort of thing that seperates us from WKPD - factual, humorous, and not liable to sabotage! Many, many entries need time in PR but perhaps some should be fast tracked. We're in the middle of one of the first test series England could win for years. If there was ever a time to get this in it's now. Or we could sit on it for two weeks, wait until the Ashes is over and then put it in the guide...
We have to build our profile and this entry being available in the edited guide won't hurt!

My point is that until a day or so ago, it was very much incomplete, and Ali would agree, I'm sure. She's put extra work in, and now its ready. If it had gone a week ago, it wouldn't be such a greaqt entry, wouldn't have done the subject justice and certainly wouldn't have done the author justice.

I can't argue with that! PR is great, but it would be nice if we could have a post-guide PR (for something like the Rocky Horror thing lurking about right now) where the initial entry gets accepted on a 'better than nothing' basis and then things can get added through PR afterwards (I know the arguments against, and have thought of the possibility of unsuitable entries getting through, but I think the italics are sharp enugh to keep an eye one that.)
Would it not have been nice to have the Rocky Horror thing 'out there' and getting edited as it went?
