I knew could count on your discretion Roy.
And by the way I think you are a really lovely person, and so much value that there are people like you on h2g2. (Hope I'm embarrassing you too much. )
And the sooner you get back to forum threads, the better for the forum. PS I'm teasing, I'm well aware it might all be too much for your mental health.

You're not so bad yourself! It was only the SWL thing that wound me up: I've enjoyed your company otherwise.
I wouldn't touch The Forum with my husband's barge pole! He's called Rover and has a smashing coat. Breath's terrible though.

I do believe the antipodean puff disliker is ignoring me. I think this is probably a good thing.

Yes well she frequently does that when convenient. And then when you are least expecting it she lets forth a volley of

Ah. That's something to look forward to then. I though the disclaimer in my last reply to her might have headed her off at the pass. Hey ho.

Oh Roy you have much to learn of the secret ways and wiles of her; my only advice is don't try to use any sort of rationality in trying to comprehend her; it'll be worse for your psyche than being handcuffed, gagged and tied down for a few hours in the forum on a busy day.

I've unsubbed again. There's no point trying to point out where she's wrong and there's no way I can read her and not respond, so the best thing to do is not read her in the first place.
Shame really, I was enjoying Giford, Taliesin and Ed's immense patience, occasionally wit and informed responses and always look forward to a return of the SoRB, but WG's obsession with you and bestiality and now that woman make it too much like hard work.
She really does make my blood boil and I'm too beset with a fevery cold thing (nothing hardcore - just a bad chest and a bit of a temperature) to deal with it.

I can't keep away from the bloody thing! I'll just have to look at it as a comedy sketch.

Hi Roy
I'm working my way through the stuff on that link you gave to Utube for Dawkins stuff.
Have just got through pt 1 of Dan Dennet speech. What an intelligent lovely man. And he even has the look of an old testement prophet about him with his white beard, . It just feels so nice to listen to this after trying to deal with the misery of what's become of TGD thread. And I doubt very much if any of the theists there will follow up your link. Crikey its scares me sometimes trying to imagagine the utter poverty of thought of theists. What a waste of the joy of questioning ideas in our amazing society because they prefer to think like some 2000 year old gullible peasant living in Palestine.
Anyway thank you for the link. It's certainly not wasted on me. I probably also should unsub from that thread. All I seem to do now is post sarcasm because of the utter tosh theists continue to post because they can't engage with anything outside their little boxes of certainty and superstition.

Dan Dennet's great isn't he! I'm increasingly of the opinion that TGD itself doesn't really matter, but the existence of TGD and RD's profile have galvanised atheists (for want of a better term), raised the profile of atheism and, as a result, introduced me, and a lot of others, to people such as Dennet & Hitchens.
Now then, *that's* the sort of thing I should have been able to post in *that* thread!
I'm going to watch Dennet again now (having skipped past the annoying 'Oh My GOD!' woman at the beginning) and will try to pay more attention this time.

Hey Roy have you listened to the Mathew Capman talk and questions on the Dawkins site? He's really quite yummy.

I think I started to but got sidetracked!

Blimey. Too much but tempered by listening to the Blues Brothers makes Roy a less venomous boy.
I just realised that I didn't watch the rest of the Chapman stuff. Must sort that out forthwith.
(Yes, I do keep posting links to things I haven't watched and things I haven't read: this is what comes of posting from an HMRC computer at work! There is still *some* integrity in the organisation!)

Roy you are the biggest genius of worthwhile link quoting on h2g2. Seriously I feel I've learnt so much recently, partularly from the Dawkins site and the Intelligent design trial. I'm getting link addicted thanks to you.
In some ways its so funny. This thing you have about the Forum and links.. I know what you mean, so many are usually gut wrenchingly boring.
Yours are
I'm going to call you my god of links.

'God' of links? Ooh, you cheekuy wench!
BTW: I'm attending a meet from the Richard Dawkins forums tomorrow. I don't post there much (way, way out of my depth) but it should be good.

Hi Roy babes. I'm sure you've seen I've got into a bit of a hoo ha lately. That's me unfortunately.
Anyway happy wosit and my PS might get more civilised again at some point, but for now it's gone all abstract and impersonal and has no friends. But you're still there I assure you and may well return at some point.
I know I'm a bit difficult for you, but I love yer loads, so all the best for this Newtonian season.
