Yes, we're all frightfully clever.
Yes, religion of all stripes is a pointless, divisive thing.
Yes, we should take umbrage at religious indoctrination in schools...
...BUT...
...how many conversations can you have about atheism? We think they're wrong, we know we're right. And?
Crivvens, there's nothing like being among like minded people to bore the tits off a chap.

I think Tricky Dicky is doing Religion a service. By bringing the ridiculous parts into the open, he's creating a platform for the religionists to respond on. As a result, their views get a wider coverage and more people are exposed to them. Even if 90% are convinced by Dawkins, 10% might think the religionists are right and they gain converts.
Up till now, they were regarded as crackpots. People smiled politely then ignored them.
Pat Buchanan & Co are loving it. There's no such thing as bad publicity.

Fanny: these are beer tits and nowhere near so much fun.
SWL: I think the Dawkins clan (of which I'm an unashamed part) are in danger of invoking the 'Brian' clause:
'Stop worshipping me and think for yourselves!'
Fanny & SWL in the same thread? Crivvens, I feel like the great healer!
And a to both of ya'.

They'll soon learn the error of their ways.
I figure they either come here because I'm on their friends list, in which case they have no excuse, or they're snooping around on the info page, in which case they get what they deserve!
Lil! Smut in post 7? There's no smut in Post 7; it's your dirty mind!
