Roy gets a bit teary again.
Primeval Mudd (formerly Roymondo) Started conversation Jan 4, 2007
Yep, it's my dead mate again. The inquest has been and gone and the story turned up in a local rag today: http://www.thecnj.co.uk/camden/010407/news010407_12.html
I'm gonna' phone his mum tonight (which I should have done at Christmas and feel rather shoddy because I didn't). There'll probably be much blubbing.
I still miss ya' mate.

. I should be OK, it's just the sudden 'Ooh, here it is again' thing. So long as I stay away from a certain coupla' songs I'll be cool.
I can't imagine how his Mum felt when the card turned up.

I am a tad confused. Per the phot in the article the card says 'On Behalf Of The Majestic Revenue And Customs', which made me think that my previous manager wrote it (she's dyslexic) as it should say 'Her Majesty's Revenue And Customs', but she denies all knowledge! Who on earth wrote that card?
A song about the manager in question: http://www.mugfungus.co.uk/Jog%20On.mp3 which you might have heard before.
I'm really making an effort to avoid listening to anything I associate with Daniel but, despite my best efforts, things keep cropping up.
I really should be over the chap by now (it's not like we were an item or anything - we really were just friends).

The florist who made up the order, they usually write the cards.
The message must have been written down incorrectly.

That's probably it. I'm not happy that a florist would write the card in capitals though.

Just read the article all the way through and all I can think of saying is, well, I'm not sure what to say....the still stands though

Ta for the s.
fords: the lad moved to the smoke because of family issues, then got in with the wrong crowd. He was just starting to get in with the right crowd (largely because he was getting some self respect) when this went and happened. That's what's so blinkin' tragic about it.
I thought American Idiot would be a fairly safe album to play but I was wrong. 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' just started.
Should I just give up and surrender to the wallow?

I feel so sorry for his poor mum
As we say in Scotland, a guid greet (good cry) never did anybody any harm

Yeah, I should have a blub but, even though I keep welling up, the blub never comes (just like that pain in the rump sneeze that haunts one for hours).

Don't hold back on listening to those songs you talked about earlier, maybe that'll help?

Primeval Mudd (formerly Roymondo) Posted Jan 4, 2007
If I was going to blub I think I'd have done it by now. I don't think I'm really the blubbing type: I tend to feel it coming then nothing happens (much like the aforementioned sneeze).
Anyway, I should call his Mum now.

Hi Roy,
I was so saddened to read that article, What a mess! Police eh?
I know I've not been chatting with you here for long, but I'm really feeling for you in your grief (This thread brings up issues for me..)
I know the problem of not being able to cry - for me it's the fear of how I will stop once I let it out (quite a lot of loss in my life)
I can really only say that the reminders don't ever stop turning up, sorry, but they do get easier to cope with..
It is very frustrating that I can't offer anything more substantial than and my best wishes Experience of loss and distress really does not give me any answers. I do know that acknowledging loss and having it recognised by others is important {Memories of the people who turn away and wont meet your eye}
It is so very sad when the bright burn out so young..
You are in my thoughts, have a cry and cheer up soon, you are not alone in having these feelings, but we can't share them, only empathise with you.
& may also help?
*fluffy squirrely hugs*

Well, I spoke to his Mum. As usual I didn't know what to say. What *can* you say when you're one of the few people she can talk to about her son but have nothing to relate apart from what a lovely chap he was?

Squirrel Posted Jan 4, 2007
Not much you can say - but letting her know you are there and thinking of her is worth a lot - making the call is the important thing..
