We're being EVICTED??!!??
*panics*
...but Rhett, where shall I go? What shall I do?
...Oh, I can't think about this now! I'll go crazy if I do! I'll think about it tomorrow. But I must think about it. I must think about it. What is there to do? What is there that matters?...I'll think of it tomorrow...after all... TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY!!
...As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again!!

Well, I really haven't been a frequent visitor lately, but I hate to see the old girl go. I made some pretty good virtual friends here, and although most are gone now, I still think of them, especially when something of importance happens in their tiny corner of the world. Thank you, BBC, for hosting this unorthodox playground. Thank you, friends, for playing along with me when I desperately needed someone to play with. You will always hold special in my heart.

"Oh no, don't blame me, it was all YOUR fault!! screeched Transocean to Halliburton.
"Not my responsibility THIS time, Mister!!! This one's on YOU!!!" sneered Halliburton to BP.
Just.Stop.The.Damn.Leak.
Just.Clean.Up.Your.Damn.Mess.
Hurricane season starts in 21 days. At this rate, the first tropical storm will sling oil from the Gulf of Mexico clean to Baton Rouge.

Snooky Boy is dead...

Now, I ask you, what's more entertaining than a quick perusal of the newspaper's obituary page?
My local newspaper has recently started adding the nicknames of the deceased, as well as a tiny picture to accompany the sad news of someone's passing. Between yesterday and today, the following people have gone to their great reward:
Snooky Boy (aforementioned)
Rassie
Big Linda (She was!)
Buck
Pecan
Pooh (Oh dear!)
Pop
Doc
Mac
Money (Cha-ching!)
Toady
Cootsie
Red
Able Mabel (Really!)
Brother
Bay
Makes me wonder what earned them their respective nicknames. I think they must have understood the benefits of living their life with a healthy dose of humor.
May they all rest in peace.
