You can call me TC Started conversation Jun 11, 2005
Every time I come here - and I come here often, to check if Bossel's come back WHERE DID HE GO??? I notice that the "last posted" has changed again. Today it says "last posted 5 Mar 2004".
Last time I came, I rummaged around and found postings up to September 2004, or even October or November (certainly after he'd been up that mountain). I clicked on the posts and the "last posted" changed each time to the date of the posting I had looked at.
And today it's dropped back down again. WTF?
AND WHERE IS BOSSEL??

For a start, his last Journal entry was in June 2004, and he contributed to the thread on into July.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jun 17, 2005
I think I know the reason for it. When calculating the last posted date, h2g2 picks out something like the last 500 conversations that Bossel is subscribed to, (sorted by the date somebody last posted to them) and then looks among these for the most recent date that Bossel posted to any of them. Most of Bossels own postings are now swamped by the conversations he is subscribed to but never posted to. If someone else posts to an old conversation that Bossel was involved in, then that one is put into the "list of 500" or whatever it is.
Unfortunately, Bossel is heading towards "no recent postings". Will we ever find out what happened to him?

Thanks for the explanation. I thought it must be something like that. I'm not really bothered about that so much as about the fact that he's just stopped posting and not said goodbye or anything.
I can't find him in the online phone book. I am pretty sure there's no point trying his mobile phone number, because he said he changed numbers frequently, and he moved from the only address I had.

Do you or anybody else know his real life name?

Oh yes, I know his name, but I can't find him online because he has moved from Munich and I don't know where to. Hell has had more recent contact - he is also in Munich.
He has a sister in New York and I even know where his family is from. There are several people with the same name in that town - I'd have to ring a number of total strangers and ask if they had a brother called H, which would be the last resort.
I shall try the Scouts page here first.

Bossel did turn up again, if anybody is interested, although I don't think he ever posted to h2g2 again.
