PS later--- its alright. LIfe is short. Brokeback Mountain is the most incredible film ---- I am humbled.

yes, of course I will keep writing - I still feel that I haven't yet begun. I would still like to keep working in the workshop context, you know, as the knowledge of writers like you and the others is important to me. just need a break every now and then to assess all that has happened --- didn't think h2g2 would be so intense a 'learning curve' for me --- terrible expression, 'learning curve' ---- but you get the general gist.

Based on your recommendation, I will change my mind and see the film. Gay cowboys didn't seem like something that would have much appeal. One of my favorite movies is "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne.

The learning curve was first observed and quantified in WWII B-24 factories in California. Some bright time-and-motion specialist noted that each time cumulative total production doubled, the person hours time required dropped by 25%.

For Example:
10 B-24s 100,000 hours 10,000 each
next 10 75,000 hours 7,500 each
next 20 112,500 hours 5,625 each

A steep learning curve would be more like a 50% improvement. This concept is very useful in setting quotas and forecasting production costs.

After a lifetime of getting paid to know and write about serious stuff like that, it's a treat to kick back and write silly pointless things and meet new and interesting people.

Your cult following and the musical accompanyment sounds very exciting and I hope you continue to find a little time for your virtual friends.
