New cars

Hi! Slightly more space here than in an SMS. smiley - smiley

I'm not convinced that I do know more about cars that you actually. And as for the cars you listed, I've only been in a Brava. Seemed to be pretty good for a car in its class. But since I've not been in either of the others, that's not much help... I'm afraid I don't tend to read reviews of cars I'm not remotely likely to buy, and since I've not been considering buying a car in this class for years I'm just not well acquainted with them. The only Hyundai I've ever driven was a hire car in America, and the handling was loathsome. But American hire cars always have abominable handling, so it's probably not helpful to try and read much into that.

So I'm afraid I'm not much use on this. smiley - sadface

Inexplicably you left Lotus, TVR, Ferrari and Subaru off your list. I can't understand how you could have made such an oversight. smiley - winkeye

But there's cupholders and an oddment compartment in the Bravasmiley - winkeye Ooh and it has heated seats smiley - smiley And the Hyundai seems perfect but it's insurance band 13 or 14 and that would cost a fortune for me... and the Mitsibishi (so can't spell that) was a very pretty red...

Hmm, can't think why I left off Lotus but maybe as it's not as good as the TVR...
*whistles innocently*
And of course I left off the Ferrari as it'd be unfair to the world to let me loose on roads in onesmiley - winkeye that and can you imagine the insurance??? It'd almost be as much as the car...well that and I couldn't even afford a Ferrari steering wheel smiley - smiley And SUBARU was on the list... and I did see a second hand Impreza I could afford but was out voted on the grounds that a) the insurance was silly and b) I would have crashed it within minutes as I'd have been too busy squealing SUBARU!!! Oh yeah that and the fact that I was banned from test driving this Vauxhall thingy as they pointed out that if I could turn a shoddy escort into a rally car then there was no way I was being let loose on something which actually had power smiley - smiley

Oooh and before I leave I'll tell you something which made me laugh, the vauxhall dealer tried to claim that the VX220 would outrace the new Elise anyday smiley - smiley hehehehe, I don't think they expected me to know anything about cars they just kept looking shocked when I was asking about all the specs on the cars smiley - smiley

The first time I sat in a car with heated seats, I found the strange sensation of warmth spreading out from under my legs a bit unnerving - I had to keep reminding myself that I hadn't in fact wet myself despite how it felt... smiley - erm

Well obviously you're just wrong about the Lotus, but I notice that TVR was absent from the list too. (Presumably, employing a version of your own logic, because it's not as good as the Lotus. smiley - winkeye)

Ah yes, insurance. In theory mine should have got a lot better when I went past 25. Unfortunately I then had a couple of accidents, so in fact it all got more expensive. smiley - sadface So I guess ruling out the Hyundai seems inevitable - really you want to build up a good insurance record on a nice low group car and then move onto something silly. (I think my cars are groups 17 and 20, although some put the Audi at 16...)

Hmm... So the Vauxhall dealer hadn't actually read the 0-60 figures then? Just the bhp and the top speed presumably. I'm sure you could contrive a test where the VX220 would beat the Elise - a drag race from 0-120 should do it... But on a track or a twisty turny road the Vauxhall wouldn't stand a chance!

So, back to the topic in hand you've narrowed it down to a fight between heated seats and a nice red colour...
