Hi Tink,
Just so you don't think I'm going completely mad, I should explain what the 
was going on with my ICQ!
I downloaded the new version, ICQ 2001b, a few days ago. And now I wish I hadn't, because it seems that when people send me messages I can see them, but when I try to reply people only get the first letter of my message! I'm downloading ICQ 2001b again in case I just got a bad copy of the program. If that doesn't help, I'll just have to contact their help desk. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!

Tink, I have now re-installed ICQ. Trouble is that I've lost my Contact List in the process. So please send me a message or let me know your number!

So you weren't just being overly minimalist then? 
I figured it'd be something like that as the same thing happened to someone else who downloaded that version 
But anyway, is done
