Hi TB!
Missed Me?
I've only just discovered we'd been reactivated!
Spent the last hour trying to reactivate my account and 'accidently' opened a new one in the mean time!
How's things?

ZARNIROOP!!!!
Yey!
*grins*
So how much of yours has been moderated then? Me and Wumbeevil have had the whole jukebox thread removed smiley - biggrin
Don't worry, it took me 8 days to reopen my account fully and even now I can't get the pictures to work smiley - smiley

Well the three of us had better get together soon and sort a new jukebox somewhere!!

I haven't been moderated too much...
I've been credited as a researcher on an article about walks, that I can't remember adding anything to except saying that cycling is far superior to walking!
Also got my archers entry edited, even tho I didn't think it was complete!

But as everyone of Wumbeevil's posts gets moderated when he talks to me, the conversation would get quite confusing...well more confusing smiley - smiley
*wonders about the possibility of it actually making more sense*

Did you ever visit the Yahoo thing they set up for us when the site was down? I randomly asked people if they'd seen you but no-one ever had...

Hmm...one thought! If Bagpuss got moderated for singing to me in Welsh, and someone else got moderated for writing down copyrighted lyrics, does that mean we can't have a jukebox now as the songs will be moderated before we start?

Guess Who?

Post 5

Zarniroop (er.... I'll think of something amusing to put here soon!)

Life under the moderators seems unduly duifficult, could it be that the vogons have taken over the guide in the guise of the bbc?

HI TB!
I've just been barred for the last week and I couldn't post to the guide, the vogons threw out of the air lock after I posted a bit about plans for mayday and political lobbying!

Just managed to get back on board and it seems a lot quiter with a certain amount of paranoia amongst the researchers!

Good to be back,
be seeing u!

Z.

You got barred? Really? Hmmm... Our jukebox threads still not back but I can't remember how long it had been going for so it could be months before we get to see how little of it's left smiley - biggrin

Anyway, now you're back how are you? smiley - smiley
*grins*
OOh by the way, I bet you can't guess which new CD I'm getting...it's by your favourite bandsmiley - winkeye

Hi Tinkerbell,

I wouldn't have thought they last long enough to produce another album, hope you enjoy it tho! smiley - smiley

Been reasonably busy, partied lots at the weekend had a lot of fun and a 24hr hangover that I could just about manage a Vodka & Tonic or 2.

Previos weekend was quite good, saw (in order of anti-/hero to nobodies),
Nelson Mandela, Tony Blair, REM, Laby Siffree(sp), Lady Smith Black Mambaza(?sp), The Corrs, Mark Lamar(looking and sounding lots like Ben Elton), Billy Ocean, Mel B (in a VERY revealing top!), Atomic Kitten And an audience that was getting quite wet! It was quite a good gig to work on, though I didn't finish working until 4am and got home about 6am!

Of course they've lasted this long, though admittedly it's only been released in Ireland so far... They're touring with The Corrs you know smiley - smiley

Really? Was that the gig in London? Were you working on that? Wow, you saw REM, were they as good live? Did you get to meet Nelson Mandela or did you see him? And ummm... Atomic Kitten??? Hehehe...

Zarniroop (er.... I'll think of something amusing to put here soon!)

YeaH!

I was on a spotlight on stage abnout 30ft away from nelson, but we rarely get a chance to meet the stars and face the sack if we go and 'hassle' them.
REM were really good, only did 7 numbers tho, and I was laughing when the corrs had to stop mid set so health and safety types could fix some of the audience staging that had collapsed.
Umm.. atomic kitten... well they lookedgood, but not into the music,
Mel B was hilarious as she was blatantly miming and finding it really funny that her top kept coming down and showing 'the puppies noses' HEE HEE!

You don't have to sound so suprised...I'm sure that there must be more than me who owns their CD's...probably...

Ooh...are you never tempted to randomly illuminate the wrong people? Though I suppose if you value your job thats probably not a good plan smiley - winkeye What songs did REM have in their set?
And ummm...I wasn't actually claiming to like Atomic Kitten's music, just that they seemed slightly out of place in a line up of Nelson Mandela and REM ...

Guess Who?

Post 12

Zarniroop (er.... I'll think of something amusing to put here soon!)

personally I've never lit-up the wrong person, tho I've been sacked off a production for missing my que and hitting the wrong stage position ( enter upstage left, I hit upstage right!), and a very stroppy opera singer kicked off about it after the show, but that's another story!
I've worked with some people who have done things like pick-up the camera man on stage and a favorite is picking out pretty girls and sleeping people in the audience!

I almost picked up an REM set list, but didn't quite get around to it! To be honest I'm not quite sure which ones they did play!

Atomic Kitten were very outof place in the line up, tho they are doing lots of promotional work and they've obviously got assests that enable them to pull strings and appear at events like that.

HI TB,
How you coping with the news?
I'm busy saying hello to a few of the hordes of new researchers, encouraging them to stick around!

They're letting you do that? I hope none of them mention Pictu...that band smiley - winkeye

It's really sad isn't it? Feels quite weird... especially with so many new researchers joining now...

They didn't have Hear'say at the concert did they?
If you don't mind me asking, what is your job? You were going to tell me just before the site went down y'see, is it lighting that you do or just general back stage technical things? Or am I getting confused and it's neither? smiley - smiley

Zarniroop (er.... I'll think of something amusing to put here soon!)

Most of the new reasearcher haven't written an entry so there's no way of saying Hi to them and a lot of them have only posted there feelings on the relevant obit bits!
No ones stopping me saying Hi! They'll have to boot me again to do that!!
My Job isn't particularly technical, ok I know how to operate a spotlight(and do so quite well!), officially in the industry I'm called Local Crew as I don't travel with the production so I'm mainly used for manual tasks such as loading/unloading trucks, building stages and generally pushing things around lifting and carrying! Not very glamorous and not very well paid, tho occasionally there's some good perks!
I saw Hear'say at the Brits, they were absolute tosh and made me yearn for a certain irish band starting with P.

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed*

Yeah, I thought that, I can't see them sticking around after they've posted but I don't know whether thats a good thing or not...

*laughs*
As long as Wumbeevil's not there as well I guess it should be ok smiley - winkeye He's not helping you is he? smiley - erm

Oh I see...well it sounds technical to me who can't even operate a toaster. I bet that's good fun actually. It's not really similar but I was the stage manager for something once so I got to help out with all the lighting and sound and stuff and that was great fun so doing it really must be cool smiley - smiley

*laughs*
It's amazing we seem to agree on something musical...I mean I'd always prefer to listen to the greatest Irish band (excluding U2 clearly) than Hear'say smiley - winkeye

The job is cool occasionally, but in the words of Bill Wyman, you spend 90% of your life waiting in this job, not particularly suitable for someone like me with a low patience threshold!

But in most other jobs you'd spend 90% of your time sitting behind a desk staring at a computer screen...

gimme sitting around on the side of a stage (indoor in summer & outdoor in winter) to sitting in an office anytime.

Is wumbevil still around or has he relocated to n2g2, I had major problems registering for ezboard so didn't also have you checked the links page of wumbevil, there's someone there looking for you!!!
