Hello
Bagpuss Posted Mar 23, 2001
We had a bit. There was fog and snow at the same time when I went to ASDA yesterday.
Have you any more idea when you'll be in Leeds yet?
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Mar 26, 2001
Oh...we had lots of snow
Nope, still heard nothing new about Leeds but it'll be fine, I'll e-mail you when I know
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Mar 27, 2001
*laughs*
You're not pestering me
*points to the other I.E window*
Look see! E-mail to you, being sent now
Btw was it you who got moderated in the F&F thread? I'm sure someone decided to sing Catatonia lyrics there and as I know that you know many obscure lyrics...
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Mar 27, 2001
I have to wait until I get into uni to check that account, so you may get a reply tomorrow.
It was me, but I didn't so much know the lyrics as copy them from the bit of paper in the tape case. Do you think they'll let me have the post back?
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Mar 27, 2001
*laughs*
I knew it! I figured only you would 'know' the lyrics So this Tinkerbell song, is that for real, how's it go?
*smiles*
It's not like Wumbeevil's version of that Christmas fairy song is it? I don't think they've even bothered trying to moderate that jukebox thread, just deleted it

With a little help from the "Ultimate Catatonia website":
Forgive me if I seem to be impatient and obscene
It's just I'd like to fall so flat and hear the voices shouting back
Tinkerbell should have waited before turning on the TV show
Tinkerbell should have waited before turning on the TV show
As orange buffoons dance, they booked a faker in advance
Left purple jungles in a trance to raise the nepotistic chant
Tinkerbell should have waited before turning on the TV show
Tinkerbell should have waited before turning on the TV show
Tinkerbell should have waited before turning on the TV show
She should have waited, she should have waited before the show
The TV show . . . the TV show
(La la la la la la)
The TV show . . . the TV show
(La la la la la la)
So you want to be a star? Tell the monkey where you are,
look the monkey in the eye
(the TV show . . . the TV show)
Did you fly into a rage? Did you lust for centre stage? Look the monkey in the eye
(the TV show . . . the TV show)
Did you yearn to leave your mark? Did you swear that you'd go far? Look the monkey in the eye
(the TV show . . . the TV show)
If you want to be a star tell the monkey where you are, look the monkey in the eye
(the TV show . . . the TV show)
La la la la la la la la la la la la [etc.]

Hmmm. Reading those I'm not surprised I couldn't make them out, it does seem one of the more random possible combinations of words. (Do you think wholesale lyric quoting is against the rules? It's not as if it was an official website or anything and they seem to have got away with it)
What Christmas fairy song? I must have missed that one.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Mar 30, 2001
Hmmm... That's umm...yes...
Well the lyrics are still there so far, I suspect they'll be removed in due course though
The Christmas Fairy song was in the Jukebox thread, which I suspect will have been permanently deleted as I'd reckon about half the posts would be moderated...
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Mar 30, 2001
Why is it that those lyrics only remind me of "Night Fever" (the Channel 5 show) and Pop Monkey?
Possibly. I don't recall seeing that bit.
Do you know someone put "The Locomotion" on the Brickies jukebox the other day and yours truly got into trouble for dancing round to it when he should have been taking his shot at pool. I maintain it was the beer's fault.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Mar 30, 2001
Hmm those lyrics remind me of very little...
*laughs*
You were dancing to the locomotion? YOU?
*smiles*
hehehe
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Mar 30, 2001
Perhaps I got a little nostalgic as well. When I were a lad they made up a joke version which I couldn't understand because it was about Neighbores and I've never watched the thing.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Apr 2, 2001
*grins*
Aaaw how sweet, dancing the locomotion round the pool table, hehehehe
*starts humming*
"Everybody's doing a brand new dance now..."
*wonders if it's worse that she can remember all the lyrics*
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Apr 3, 2001
"My little baby sister can do it with ease,
Something something something your ABCs"
The pool cue's a great addition to any dance, perhaps that's where the Americans got the idea of twirling batons and throwing them in the air from.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Apr 3, 2001
*grins*
I think you'll find it goes "It's easier than learning your ABC's
so come on, come on..."
*goes quiet*
I don't know all the words honestly! Ahem...
*laughs*
I somehow doubt me using a pool cue would be a great addition, last time we played I nearly put the window through in the pub Still at least I won
So...will you be learning the Steps routines next?
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Apr 5, 2001
No, although one of my housemates can do "Tragedy". I refuse to learn. I'm not bad at "Saturday Night" by Whigfield, although when I was in Manchester for a friend's twenty-first, they did a different version.
Ah, now winning the match is the important thing. As long as you don't spill anyone's beer, that is. Table football is much safer.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Apr 5, 2001
*giggles*
Whigfield? You know this is getting more amusing
How come only one person in your house knows the 'Tragedy' dance? I thought everyone was obliged to know that
No, no beer was spilt...but it was really strange as I didn't know I could play pool and then I kept winning...well until I was accused of being a pool shark and then I had to stop
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Apr 9, 2001
I'm not even going to mention "The Stonk".
Most of us have absolutely no intention of learning it.
Really? You shouldn't be allowed to be naturally good at it; pool skill is normally gained after many hours and several pints.
Hello
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Apr 9, 2001
As in the 'Red Nose Day' thing from years ago? Or as in Stomp by Steps
*grins*
We went to see 'Rugrats the Movie in Paris' thingy today and it has such a good soundtrack! It was so fun, my mate and I just started dancing and giggling whilst all the little kids were sat quietly watching the film...
*laughs*
I never mentioned pool skill? I said I kept winning which is not the same, I imagine if I played again I wouldn't be so lucky
Hello
Bagpuss Posted Apr 21, 2001
The Red-Nose thing.
I have to say I've never liked Rugrats much, though I cannot claim to be more mature in film-going stakes as one of my favourite cinema films recently was Chicken Run. And when Harry Potter makes his big-screen début, I'll be there at the front of the queue.
You're not supposed to admit to luck at pool; if a ball goes in having hit three other balls and two cushions, you should look unsurprised and declare, "Played for and got!".
Key: Complain about this post
