I was going to revive this thread a while back because I fell in love with Dev Patel. Late to the party as usual, I finally got to watch Slumdog Millionaire by buying the DVD when it started to drop in price.

The kid is not only smiley - droolsmiley - droolsmiley - drool but he is one helluvan actor. And he's not even 20. Well, not when the film was made, anyway. Which means he's younger than all my children.

Oh My God - how can anyone not go jelly-kneed at the sight of Lenny Kravitz? And why is that? What is it about him?

BTW did I ever tell you my son and his wife (then fiancée) were walking through Central Park a few years ago (as you do) and came across a film crew shooting a video. Guess whose video it was? None other than Mr Lenny Kravitz.

I wrote in the "film" thread that I absolutely loved "RED" - a great romp. I was grinning all the way through and the music was smiley - wowsmiley - wowsmiley - wow Bruce Willis was smiley - drool. Not so keen on the Urban guy ("Cute hair"!!!)

The fake Cop who nearly kidnapped Sarah was a dead ringer for Barack Obama.

oh I thought the Urban guy was totally gorgeous because he was, ultimately, doomed to have to join them and he got beaten up so much and so often... smiley - drool

And I agree, TC, what is not to love about Lenny? He has something that you can't put your finger on - totally charismatic. And he seems very genuine although I'm sure he does the same set every time he goes on stage for this tour. smiley - drool

But a sharp reminder of my One True Drool last evening watching the Graham Norton show: The Deppster. Totally totally gorgeous, seemed very very genuine, shy, and absolutely hilarious too (spontaneously, I might add) smiley - loveblushsmiley - droolsmiley - drool

Gruesome #2 said: what's so special about him? Even smiley - chef was shocked at that!!

Oh and thanks to Pierce the smiley - pirate for reminding me about Mads Mikkelsen. smiley - drool

oh my, I watched Little Ashes which is a film about the early life (around 1930-1936) of Salvador Dali, focussing on his time at university in Madrid and in particular his relationship with Frederico Garcia Lorca. Apart from the fact that it has some totally beautiful scenes (in particurlar a swimming one) with Lorca and Dali (played by Robert Pattinson) I thought the Spanish guy playing Lorca was totally beautiful, and really good because I smiley - wah at the end.

Anyway here he is (Javier Beltrán Andreu)

a still picture, of course, does nothing to convey his totally gorgeous Spanish accent smiley - drool (and of course we'll conveniently ignore the fact that I'm old enough to be his granny)

Titania (gone for lunch)

Sounds like an interesting film.

Having had a Flamenco teacher who not only taught us how to dance but also about the history of Flamenco, I know Lorca and de Falla (Manuel) did a lot to improve the status of Flamenco in Spain.
