*at the same time, the music starts playing. The intro consists solely of a 2-string slide-bass. then the drums start. a dark, male, un-trained voice starts singing in a laidback fashion. the lyrics go like this:
"I hear a voice
From the back of the room
I hear a voice
cry out
you want something good"

As the chorus starts, an alto-saxophone kicks in

"you see I met a devil named
Buena, buena
and since I met this devil
I aint been the same oh no"*

Any suggestions?

Not my band, I don't have one, though that could change in the near future... but that's another matter entirely!
The guy with the dark voice died on stage in Italy the summer of -99. Didn't do drugs, didn't drink a lot, didn't anything (almost), except make and love beautifull music. And then he just collapsed from heart-attack... go figure... and he wasn't old or anything either! (38 or something) The band-name is the same as the narcotic that heroin is derived from...

oh dear...the only band connected somehow with heroin (namewise) I can come up with right now is Opium Den ???

I'm sorry, no. They're called Morphine. It's a kind of jazzy bluesthing or a bluesy jazzthing, can't really decide which...
Almost all their songs follow the lineup I described. Two-string slidebass, saxophone and drums. And of course the fantastic vocals of Mark Sandman, may he rest in peace!

So what was that about your band??? What instrument do you play or do you rather prefer to do the vocals?

I take care of the vocals and the lyrics, but I'm going to try and learn how to play bass...

Monday morning is treating me with lots of w**k in a lab with a singing engineer coming up with philosophical views about young girls marriying old millionaers, what actually cheers me up a bit.

Yeah, fairly... Saw three movies Saturday (American Beauty, Things To Do In Devner When You're Dead and Phantoms), and one yesterday (8mm). Neither the weather nor the wallet allowed for much out-of-the-couch-activities...

Y'know, that actually brought me a bit down... (as I'm neither old nor millionaire...) And singing engineers always scare the bejeebas out of me....
