Wel I like surprises smiley - smiley, so definitely for me...I would say it's your choice, either you choose something or you can pick a cd with covered eyes, then it's a surprise for both of us...

Hmm...
*rubs cheek and beard as in deep thought*
Allright, close your eyes!
*waits 'till Feffis eyes are closed*
Allright, now you can open'em
*at the same time, the music starts playing. The intro consists solely of a 2-string slide-bass. then the drums start. a dark, male, un-trained voice starts singing in a laidback fashion. the lyrics go like this:
"I hear a voice
From the back of the room
I hear a voice
cry out
you want something good"

As the chorus starts, an alto-saxophone kicks in

"you see I met a devil named
Buena, buena
and since I met this devil
I aint been the same oh no"*

Any suggestions?

Not my band, I don't have one, though that could change in the near future... but that's another matter entirely!
The guy with the dark voice died on stage in Italy the summer of -99. Didn't do drugs, didn't drink a lot, didn't anything (almost), except make and love beautifull music. And then he just collapsed from heart-attack... go figure... and he wasn't old or anything either! (38 or something) The band-name is the same as the narcotic that heroin is derived from...

I'm sorry, no. They're called Morphine. It's a kind of jazzy bluesthing or a bluesy jazzthing, can't really decide which...smiley - smiley
Almost all their songs follow the lineup I described. Two-string slidebass, saxophone and drums. And of course the fantastic vocals of Mark Sandman, may he rest in peace!smiley - cry

You know this Syria trip I am going to make (Feb 18th to March 8th). I am pretty much looking forward to that, especially as I've never been to a country with non-western background before smiley - smiley...

*gets up and walks over to the stereo* Actually we haven't listened to any female artist till now...guess we should change that.*looks through the cds and finally decides to choose something slow for a start, puts cd on* Is Tracy Chapman alright for you?

*starts tidying up a bit and washes the glasses* Did we really drink all that wine? smiley - winkeye *looking at a heap of empty bottles*

*prepares some cappuccino (enough, in case One-eye wants some as well)and looks in her bag till she finally finds a book - Dürrenmatt btw.), settles down on the sofa with drink and book and waits...*

*As Tracy is over she puts on Sheryl now*

Monday morning is treating me with lots of w**k in a lab with a singing engineer coming up with philosophical views about young girls marriying old millionaers, what actually cheers me up a bit. smiley - winkeye

What about yourself? Had a nice weekend?

Yeah, fairly... Saw three movies Saturday (American Beauty, Things To Do In Devner When You're Dead and Phantoms), and one yesterday (8mm). Neither the weather nor the wallet allowed for much out-of-the-couch-activities...smiley - winkeye

Y'know, that actually brought me a bit down... (as I'm neither old nor millionaire...)smiley - sadface And singing engineers always scare the bejeebas out of me....smiley - winkeye

American Beauty? Seen that one, did you like it?

You didn't think I was planning to marry an old millionaire, did you? smiley - yikes He was talking about this new TV programm where a millionaire can choose between 50 women to marry. They have never seen each other before (apparently)... one of the most stupid ideas one can propably think of smiley - yuk...
Well have to go back to the singing engineer now IRL, who btw. is something around 50 and happily married...and no millionaire smiley - winkeye

Loved it! A bit disappointed 'bout 8mm though...

No, I didn't think you were planning to do that, but one never knows...smiley - winkeye

Well, just when you thought they couldn't find something more repulsive to put on the screen....

I'm in awe of you! You are so brave! There's something fishy about a singing engineer! I wouldn't trust him for a second!!smiley - winkeye
