She's not old enough to knock down the tree, you're right about that.
As for what I got for others, my brother, I was in on a shavingmachine (is that the right word), for my sister and her husband I got a gift-certificate for a record-shop, for the ex I got the cd from I got a gift-certificate (I'm not very inventive when it comes to gifts) to a clothesshop (that's definetely not the right word!), for my mother something for the coffeeset she's collecting. And finally, for my father I got a really nice dark grey wrinkle-free shirt with a matching grey silk-tie (it was so nice I almost took it for myselfsmiley - smiley) Phew!

Well, I guess I know why you got dull things..no, I don't want to say your presents were dull...but you are the keeper of dullness, so people might expect you to like dull things!?

Well, I'm not the keeper of dullness coz I like it, I just can't help it. I have no idea how to be an interesting and amusing person, so I just had to be the Keeper of Dullnes...smiley - winkeye

Anyhoo, I'm off! Gotta drive a friend of mine to Oslo, for an MR-examination. (She's got a prolapse in her lower back...).

You just stay as long as you like!smiley - smiley

Just wanted to share this_beautiful_technical_drawing I've made with you...alright, alright, it might not look beautiful to anybody else (especially not to anybody knowing anything about technical drawings) and it's also not really difficult, but still it was quite something for ME to construct it... smiley - winkeye

Anyway, this being interesting and amusing thing...smiley - erm...sorry, can't help you with that, guess I am too boring myself so I'll just continue to be happy about my drawing smiley - winkeye

What is it? Besides a technical drawing, of course (something which I know absolutely nothing about). Looks very intricate and complicated.

Have to admit it's not really complicated...well, it's a little thingy that should help us to fill hotmelt glue through a tiny hole, something like that...smiley - smiley

Well, I know Kent now, no I hadn't heard of them before smiley - blush...but I got a cd yesterday...wipe that grin off your face...I knew I shouldn't tell you...no, if you put on the Vengaboys now, I won't get their cd...I know them...smiley - winkeye

Hotmelt glue through a tiny hole? A device for some kind of packaging machine?

You actually bought a Kent-cd IRL? *looks impressed* They really are great, eh?
I hope that the reason you won't buy Vengaboys if I were to put it on, (which I can't) is that you'd rather not have it...?
I'm not surprised that you hadn't heard of Kent, though. They're not that huge outside Scandinavia. So, did you get the English or the Swedish version?

*looks very relieved that One-eye won't put that kind of music on*

Well, I got in English, guess it's quite difficult to get it in Swedish over here...anyhow I like to understand the lyrics. I went to a record shop after work anyway and when I was there I decided to look whether they have it, actually I didn't expect to find it, but as it really was there...

Which album did you get? Isola?

Plastic pipelines for basically everything domestic water supply, chemical industry...

Yes Isola! (Good choice?)

Does the company you work for only produce generic drugs or do they also do some research themselves?

Isola is definetely a good choice!!smiley - ok In my opinion the best and most complete of the four Kent-albums. The others are well worth the money too, though.smiley - winkeye(Only two are available in English, Isola and Hagnesta Hill.)

Mostly generic drugs, but in skincare and dentalcare we have developed some products of our own. (Maybe you even know them. Decubal skincare, I think maybe they're called Abitima in Germany.)
It's surprising to meet someone who actually knows what the difference between generic and patented pharmaceuticals are! Most people look like questionmarks when I start ranting...smiley - winkeye

Don't know Abitima, but I'll keep my eyes open - actually the only Norwegian producht I can recall (apart from salmon) is Neurogena or Neutrogena hand creme...
I had a very good chemistry teacher in school and we had an argument about companies only producing generic drugs once...

smiley - erm...aren't they? smiley - winkeye

But yes, since then I usually buy the original Aspirin and not the Ratiopharm one. I anyway don't need a lot of them and so I am willing to pay 2 DM more to a company which is doing research...but I guess in general it's actually quite good to have generic ones, too. Propably most drugs would be way more OVER-expensive otherwise...

I also don't buy these solvable (?) Aspirin anymore since then. As he told us that the effective drug usually remains in this foam that always remains in the glass...

Are you cold?
*starts rubbing Feffis back in a warming fashion*

Anyway, I'm probably not the one with the most objectivity in this matter, but, I mean, the patent period for molecules is 20 years. The usual research/launch period from the patent is filed is about 10 years. Which means that the patent-company has 10 years alone on the market for that specific drug. Usually, the research-expences are covered after 4-5 years. Which means that on average, a patented pharmaceuticals company will earn, pardon my french, a shitload of money for 5-6 years. Then the molecule goes off patent, we launch our generic version which reduces healthcare-costs on an individual, national, even international basis, while the patent version is still earning money for it's company, coz some people will always buy the original product. And that is, of course, their prerogative if they so desire.

And the Aspirin-business? Sounds very strange to me...

Feffi (Keeper of playground sunbaths on even days)

Might be true...we once had to calculate how much the ingredients for Asprin and how many packets you could produce with the money you actually get for one packet...I can't remember the number but it was incredible.
But the other Aspirin thing is true I think...smiley - ermI mean these tablets that you put into a glass of water and you get kind of a fizzy drink, those ones usually have lots of vitamin C in, you always get this kind of foam on top, nobody likes it and as it anyway sticks a bit to the glass, you just leave but a great bit of the effective substances is in that foam so you should pour some more water in and drink it (kind of rinse it)...at least that'swhat I've been told...smiley - winkeye

Hmm, already feeling warmer now, smiley - smiley thanks. I have to go to different buildings and it's just so wet and cold outside..
