A word from the scary...
I wasn't born scaryclare, I just turned out that way. And I'm not as scary as I sound - but I've been described that way by people who find my unpredictability alarming.
BOO!
You see - you weren't expecting that, were you? (Unless you're reading this for the second time - which is the problem, and the pleasure, of repeats)
I've always wanted to be a writer, always played at it, but I did allow real life to intrude a little (all right, a lot) until recently. I find it difficult to concentrate on one type of writing: I dabble with flash fiction and short stories; am working on a novel and a play; and have had minor local success writing poetry for performance and publication. I've even had comedy material accepted by the BBC - all 23 seconds of it!!
I still work part time writing press releases for the local authority. It helps to consider this as 'material research' which tends to be how I view life in general - it doesn't hurt so much that way.
