Just dropping in to ask if you've ever considered becoming a UG miner? I don't want to put any pressure on you, of course, but I think you could be good at it.

I've only been following the alternstive writing wowrkshop for one day now due to a three week vacation, The trolls and beasts of peer review do not seem to inhabit this place....and I have unsubscribed from that nonsense.

Could I try to participate during July and see if I can demonstrate any real ability to mine for gold and diamonds?

Wonderful I read your Navigator entry, and some comments and figured you had potential. Plus it makes me look more important when I bring in new recruits
One thing that you should know about the UG - we don't worry about kicking people out when they've ceased to be useful. If you try it out in July, decide you're not good at it or whatever, then you won't be asked to leave the group and you don't have to if you don't want to. So don't impose any deadlines on yourself here - you can come and go as you like.

If you'd like to learn more about miners, look at this A1092539 and the linked pages. The <./>UnderGuide</.> page is also a good place to get a general feel of the scheme. There are essentially two rules to which miners must adhere-

1- Don't take yourself too seriously.
2- See number one.

The Pig and the Slag is our affectionate nickname for the offsite UG Yahoo forum. I voted against calling it that, but others liked it, so what're you gonna do?

I've read though both our messsage threads. I've looked at my e-mail and I've checked everything twice.

I cant seem to find (or have somehow overlooked) the link to the "pig and slag" yahoo site.

The link at the bottom of my Yahoo e-mail takes me to a recap of all messages posted by miners...Is that the "pig and slag" site?

Things are clouding up here and the wind is picking up. Hope you wan't get stranded in Florida.

I think that the recaps of messages is part of the Yahoo site, from your description.

It's not for a week or so in Florida... but who knows what this season's weather will bring?
