A small request of the philisophical type
Red (and a bit grey) Dog Started conversation Dec 13, 2002
Hiya Unc. I've been trying to track down a quotation I heard yonks ago and just can't pin down .... I've now become obsessive about it and I think you can help.
The quote was something along the lines of "to live a moral life is to do more than is required and less than is expected". It was attributed to a Greek stateman called Plenides (I think).
Any chance of getting on eof your super whizzo Tutors to help me and put me out of my misery ?

Oh and by the way I've started a Revolution at CHOPPERS - nothing personal just thought I'd try and liven things up a bit

The Revolution is progressing nicely .... you'd be proud of me if you weren't up against the wall come the Revolution

No thanks - there'd be no point in the Revolution, it'd collapse and I'd end up being an iconic figure cutting a lonely path trying to capture lost glories

let me remind you that there has never been anything glorious about choppers. i always found the name slightly suspect myself: to garius lupus, it sounded like a noble axe cutting down trees and leaving stumps of STUMPED. to me, it sounded like someone was calling us rude names.

I know ...... it was just that with you being distracted by Uni and with me at a loose end and with time on my hands I just wanted to keep it alive. Having a revolution seemed a good idea at the time. Just didn't want to upset you at all.

So how is Uni then ? I alwus reckoned if I left with nothing I'd still have had a great three years. I went back a year after I left to look up my file - my course tutor had put in one line to summarise my three years of endeavour ..... "a dreadful waste of potential". I was pleased with that

yeah. its good fun. a lot of work; more, really than id have chosen, but then this is made up by the intelligent conversation i can garauntee with anyone. some of my friends at other unis say slightly dubious things about the intelligence of many of their co-studyers...
and its always nice to go to an educational institution with women in...
