Good to see you back

It's good to see you back around, we all change as we grow up and age, we never stay the same but we never quite lose who we were.
But welcome back, hope you hang around
Good to see you back

Thank you Pastey...I've been back over a year now so the hanging around has been achieved, which is nice, though admittedly I still feel like a tourist.
When I left I was so involved in the community, I was an ACE and a Sub-Editor among other things and I was writing lots of entries, and I loved it. But now I'm still keeping everything at arms length, or I just know I could get obsessed again. Plus, as I mentioned in the other feed, there aren't that many of my old friends around, so I'm still being a bit shy about joining in.
Never know, maybe by the time I'm back two years I will have written the guide entry I have in my head and started to get a bit more chatty.
Thank you for saying hello
Em

Keeping things at arms length isn't a bad idea
I know what you mean though about friends moving on, there's hardly anyone around from when I joined, but hey we make new friends as we go on
Good to see you back

If I didn't keep things here at arms length, I'd probably never be off the site! I could literally spend days on here (back in the day) and not have blinked an eye!
It's funny, the friends thing, coming back after such a long absence and everyone else moving on, has just made me realise how much time I spent with that little niche of friends. I suppose that's why the old researchers post has been nice, I've been able to connect with people who are kind of in the same situation but I don't necessarily know.
That said, we must have been around at the same time on here, I mean I started pre-beeb (May 2000), and your U# would suggest you did as well, so the chances are we've crossed paths before or at least had mutual friends
I'm technically an old timer
Incidentally, thank you for being nice and saying hello, and I apologise in advance for my tendency to babble!

Don't apologise for babbling!
Yeah, I joined back in 99 and spent a *lot* of time on here. Nowadays I'm probably spending too much again, but technically I'm the chair of the volunteers and the lead developer, so if I didn't we'd be in trouble
Good to see you back

I have to give fair warning on the babbling (not that it ever goes unnoticed) as I have the inability to use fewer than twenty words when four will do
Lil (I think) mentioned that you were instrumental with the move from the beeb, and were having fun with the new skins. I always thought that working for h2g2 in any form would be fun. Unfortunately I don't think there's an over abundance of jobs for a jeweller who's creatively blocked and works in an office filing...unless they need some soldering done on their filing cabinets
So you're only a year older than me on here I certainly recognised your name when I came back. my name's mostly just been my name, I could never think of a good one!
Back then, it was always way too easy to spend hours on here, especially if your friends were online at the same time, it was too tempting just to wait for responses and just keep finding things to tweak on your page or entries or newbies to say hello to.
Good to see you back

Yup, I was one of the team that helped buy ourselves and yes, I'm also the developer messing about behind the scenes with skins. First up we're sorting this new Pliny out, then bringing over the older skins. It's all quite fun actually

I can imagine it is I feel quite sad that since my return I've abandoned Classic Goo! I was only ever Classic Goo before, but I think the designer in me finds it a little busy now, so I'm ashamed to say I use Alabaster. I'm of the K.I.S.S. school of design ("Keep it simple stupid", not Gene Simmons )
And, I'm so glad you guys kept h2g2 around, I may not have used it for the majority of the time it was on the beeb, but I would have been incredibly sad to see it go. So thank you
Good to see you back

Have you tried the Pliny skin? I'd be interested in your thoughts on it, we're improving it and getting a new version ready for release soon.

I haven't tried it since I made the new page to get my old page back, but I have just switched over and I will give it a go and give you some feedback I like the look of it though, it's nice and clean and reminds me a bit of blogger.
