Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Started conversation Jul 24, 2003
Thought I'd move this over here to avoid clogging up the "what are you listening to" thread. But I'm always happy to introduce new people to the TMBG phenomenon. Do you know any of their stuff already?

Yeah I was thinking of doing that too but I'm a lazy tonight
TMBG, yeah, I love Boss of Me but haven't really heard much else by them and I've been meaning to look for an album or two, thought seeing you're always listening to then in the other thread that you'd be the perfect person to ask for advise on it

Right, if you like Boss Of Me you should probably start with "Mink Car", which has the track on it (as long as you get the UK version, it's a long story...)
The problem with TMBG is that they have two distinct phases: the early years, when it was just two people and a drum machine, and the later years with a full band. The full band albums are "John Henry", "Factory Showroom", "Severe Tire Damage" (a live album), "Mink Car" and "No!" (er, an album of children's songs).
There is a Guide entry on TMBG, but I'm too lazy to find the link.

hehe, well I may leave looking for the link until the morning but I promise I will.
So lookf or Mink Car, cool, shall do
No! actually sounds quite interesting New Found Glory once did an album of film track covers which they kinda mucked about with, which was intresting if short and difficult to find.
What other bands are you interested in??

Well, how to explain Half Man Half Biscuit... cynical, satirical, silly. They have an album with the fantastic title "Trouble Over Bridgwater". The Wedding Present... er, sort of jangly guitar pop, usually with lyrics of lost love. Marvellous, isn't it, you know.

At the moment anyway. Once I move into my new flat I'll probably organise them in order of release date.

I've just edited and reorganised my CD collection, I'm very annoyed by Turin Brakes and The Beatles White Albums are both bigger than normal CDs so I've had to make my shelves bigger

"...I'm very annoyed by Turin Brakes..."
Is that the name of their album?
"Hello, I'd like a copy of I'm Very Annoyed by Turin Brakes, please."

I think they should call it that...infact if I ever manage to be prt of a band that'll be the name of our first album
as if that'll ever happen
Bu the album sleeve is about 1.5cm bigger than a normal CD case.

Cool! I had to buy my own copy. Luckily the so-called Limited Edition was still easy to get hold of 3 years after it came out.
