Ok, time to brag.
Our school prizegiving is being held in Glasgow University's Bute Hall (down at the Hunterian Museum end) on Wednesday 27th June at 2pm. And... I'm getting two prizes. If you have nothing better to do (and, let's face it, there's probably a billion better things to do than listen to Mrs Surber prattle on, such as having your toenails forcibly removed with bamboo shoots and tweezers) then you could come along and watch and clap lots.
Luv Your Friend the Good Angel xxx
PS> Your welcome to disrupt it as much as possible. Really.

Hello, Good Angel.
I didn't notice this posting at first because it didn't turn up on the reply thingy 'cos I haven't said anything. (talk about bad english, does that even make sense?)
However, first of all, don't worry about getting the your/you're mixed up because it's easy to slip up when typing fast. I've got away with much worse spelling than this (and that was in my English Higher...hehehe)
Sorry, I'm feeling a bit mad today. Better take the dried frog pills again
Anyway, Wednesday? Hmm, I'm not sure, maybe. One of my friends is supposed to be attempting to teach me guitar (and making a small fortune selling earplugs.) on Wednesday but I could try and change that to Thursday and instead go and hang out at the QM. Will you be just going to the Bute hall or will you go for a drink afterwards? I probably won't be at the prizegiving (not that I don't care, I'm just not a prizegiving person much, infact, anything-giving person, infact, I'm evil and don't care about anyone or anything so ha!)
Sorry got a bit carried away. (by men in white coats) I might be in the QM if I can drag one of my friends in for a game of air hockey (It's strange that you can down a half-pint of gin while playing with friends before collapsing in a vomiting heap and be considered normal in the QM but if you are seen with ONE drink alone then you are considered an alcoholic.) So I'll probably be sitting with someone else just as wierd as myself. I should be in a leather jacket and either jeans or combats (no matter the weather...although if it's bright you can add a pair of sunglasses which make me look ridiculous because one leg is slighty loose meaning that they are lopsided 50% of the time.) I will probably be with my friend Pete he will probably be dressed likewise (but slightly shorter and with longer hair) or possibly my friend Ross (who I haven't seen for a while but who, last time I checked, also wore a leather jacket but has glasses and brown hair. Thinking about this, most of my friends have leather jackets. I could start my own Hells angels (minus the bikes, and tattoos, and beards, and lets just forget the entire idea) If chance is on my side I might be with my friends Dave or Connie but I don't have their phone number, they just are in the QM a lot. I've already described them on a past posting.
So this posting is a bit pointless (and too long) as I'm not sure if I'll be there. I'll phone my friends to see what's happening and get back to you tommorrow.
Keep the homw sheep burning...
J

I don't think i'll be going anywhere after I leave the Bute Hall bcos my mum's coming to watch and she won't let me anywhere near the QMU, she'll be expecting me to go straight home.
And i've got 3 leather coats/jackets, 2 black and 1 white.
Sorry, can't talk much: I'm in school (prizegiving and leavers service rehearsals, damn them!) but talk later

Hi,
Sorry I didn't come to the leavers thingy but I was out watching VICI* play at the cellar bar before going to the Garage the night before and ended up sleeping at a friends house at 4am before getting up and going into town with my cousin (who was also staying over) at about 9am to check my uni results, coming home to eat breakfast about 12 and walking the dog before walking back to my friends house with my guitar to learn a few chords.
So sorry about not being there. Maybe another time.
Keep the home sheep burning
Sick Bob (now a few chords closer to being able to actually play the damn thing)
(*)Vici are a local group who describe themselves as the best unsigned band this side of Manhattan (which may be true.) They are playing a short set in Strawberry Feilds at 8:20 on the 21st of July and you might see me there.

The only thing I can play is the first two chords of Talk Show Host, cos my nails are too long for anything else. But I think guitar playing is almost a necessity for students .
Oooh, how did you do at Uni? And are you going to the free radio 1 thing in Irvine to see the Manics (Sunday July 15th)? Or to the Feeder signing in HMV Argyle Street on July 6th?

I passed all my end of year exams
Now I only have another four years of Biology to get an honours Neuroscience degree.
Talk show host - Very good song but I've only ever heard the Nellee Hooper remix from the R&J soundtrack.
I didn't know about either of these two events. I'm not a big Feeder fan (not that I have anything against them, they're quite catchy I just don't have any of their albums) but the words "Manic's" and "free" are very attractive (even if the sentence also contained "radio 1") I might be there if I find out more about it.

I know .
The confirmed list playing at Beach Park, Irvine, is so far MSP, Feeder, Sisqo , Oxide&Neutrino and L'il Bow Wow . I went last year when Idlewild played and found myself in a huge crowd of Craig David, Hanson and Stephen Gately fans. Gaaaah! There's more on the radio1 website I think...
Well done on your exams! The future of Neuroscience is in safe (well, fairly safe) hands.

"The future of Neuroscience is in safe hands!" No need for sarcasm. I asure you that I am actually very adapt with my hands . It's my evil mind they should worry about. I'd be to tempted to poke people's brains and watch their leg twitch! BWAHAHAHAHA!
I should cut down on the evil laughing.
I can't drive (not that's it's stopped me in the past ) So I'm currently on the search for a gun so that I can hold one of my friends hostage and force him to drive me to Irvine.
What's wrong with Oxide & Neutrino. I used to be considered a bit pretentious when it came to music listening only to credible, cult rock bands (Manics, Radiohead, Nirvana etc) but now I'm spreading out a bit. I'm still wary of garage music (Do you really like it! no I don't actually) but I do find "Devils Nightmare" strangely attractive. Maybe it's just because it samples satanic sounding monk choirs. Cool.
God, stck between Craig David, Hanson and Stephan Gately! A choice of three evils. I'd just go with the cyanide pill. It's quicker and more painless than any of the above.
Anyway, whats a MuG, and to that matter a Freak (unless you actually mean freak which I am too then.) Sorry if it's obvious but I've been gone a while.
Oh, check out the new smileys.

Oooh, new smileys! A MuG is a member of the h2g2 musicians guild and a freak is a member of the h2g2 freak club. We have fun with jelly. I'll try and get you links for them.
You could poke in people's brains and make other things twitch disconcertingly...
I was the same with the spreading out thing (why else do I like 'Satan Satan' by Orbital so much?) but I have a general distrust of anyone who uses very popular, well-known samples to sell records (ie. the Casualty theme) and who insist on spelling things in a 'garage' way, eg. overuse of the letter z.
If you can't find a gun then the banana-under-a-coat trick sometimes works... I think I'm getting the train down to Irvine. And the on-site burgers are usually much more effective than cyanide: although possibly more painful, it's a hell of a lot better than Hanson any day.
Will go and check out new smileys now...
"...My smile as real as a hyenas, burns an expressway to my skull, but I'll stick myslef together again, spirit so low I no longer pretend, When I'm this still you are my life, so at ease in the midnight sky, but my insides will look like war, paralysed e

Yes, I'm going to Irvine.
I may see you there although I doubt if you'll read this before tommorrow making it pointless. However, just in case: I'll be wearing my leather jacket, Cat boots, black jeans, Manic's badges (I hope I can find the "Braindead Motherf****r" one since I lost it accidentally) and probably a t-shirt with an interesting slogan on it (if it's not too cold.)
By the way I didn't recognise the quote above. Where's it from? Of course you've just inspired a new idea for a forum game. "Guess the lyric..."
...or maybe not.
Oh well, maybe see you, maybe not.
PS. Thanks for mentioning me on your home page. I don't think anyone's actually called me "lovely" before. It's quite sweet (although I would be destroying my Sick B*****d image if I admitted this...oh wait, I just have, nooo!)
I would repay the favour but I'm currently trying to learn Guide ML. Not that I'm new to the guide, I've been here from pre-BBC days but I just haven't bothered with myself. I should now though.
Stay Beautiful.

Sorry I made the title of the last posting too long. It should have ended:

That was great. The rap was all kinda s**t and although I did admit to liking "Devils Nightmare" I thought that Oxide & Neutrino were crap live.
Feeder, however were great, and really got the place jumping. Also, a lot of the neds left early meaning that I could get right to the front before the Manics started. I was about twelve feet away from James Dean Bradfield (although I still couldn't see the minature Sean Moore behind the giant drumkit. I could start a new toy range "Rock star in my pocket.." or maybe not. I realise that that makes no sense unless you remember those Monster in my pocket toys from about seven years ago and even then it's still not a good idea. I've never seen the reclusive Mr Moore talk but I get the idea that he would bite if touched.)
The Manics were phenomanal. Every song was good (although the crowd seemed disapointed when they realised that it was almost physically impossible to mosh to Let Robeson Sing.) No Motown Junk or Faster but with only seven(?) songs they crammed in the crowd pleasers
One, two, three... You love us, oh you looove us, you looove, you love us, you love us, you looove. (Not the most intelligent of their lyrics but a f***ing great song none-the-less.)
Thank you, thankyou, there will be no encores.
PS. Scratch the earlier description, it was too hot for a jacket, I came back with sunburn (and sand in just about every orifice )

Ok, I've been away from here for ages and the backlog is killing me, but here goes.
The quote from earlier was from the Camera Obscura song Eighties Fan, which I love (kinda like Belle & Sebastian).
If you were down at the front then you probably didn't notice me cos I was about ten rows back, but just in case, I was wearing a black skirt, fishnets, my school shirt with a black strappy top underneath and a pink leopard-print chiffon cardi on top, all tied up Britney-style at the front. Oh, and a pink tiara with my hair in pigtails. And I was sunburnt too, so I'm no longer pale (gaaaaaaaah!). I also managed to miss Feeder, only turning up at about 3 o'clock.
Claire, however, was at Glasgow airport that evening picking up her parents and little brother, who were coming back from Malaysia, and she managed to hyperventliate in front of the Manics and be recognised by Feeder (Grant came up behind her and went "Hello, it's Claire, isn't it?". She has all the luck. She said Sean was really nice though (about two years ago there was an on-running joke that me and Sean would be perfect for each other because we had so much in common, ie. both very short and without dads, and since my two best friends Claire and Sarah fancied Nicky and James respectively, Sean was left for me. It was funny at the time, anyway).
I don't think they should have finished with If You Tolerate This though, they should have done Motown Junk and finished with You Love Us. But starting with Motorcycle Emptiness was genius.
Anyway, I do think your lovely, but I won't spread it about. And it took me ages to learn Guide ML.
Stay Beautiful

Miss Europa Disco Dancer (X2)
La Trisstesse Duerra (scream to a sigh) - I even know that this translates as "the everlasting pain." How jolly.
I should be in central on Saturday. Do you know if I should bring cash for the GSC, I can't remember how much it is. Although I have messed up arrangements like this before. (I almost didn't make it to Irvine!)
I'm looking forward to meeting you although I'm wondering if you'll still want to talk to me after meeting me in person (For some reason I have a tendency to scare people )
I'm sorry for not getting the quote but I don't really like Belle & Sebastian. Although that is on the basis on only a couple of songs. While tired. And drunk. And really wanting something worth moshing to..? Sorry.
I think that I did see you in the crowd but can't remember that well.
I was the guy who shouted "Faster" when James asked what we wanted to hear. I remember that a bunch of the new kids stared at me like I was insane when I did that. They also stared at a girl that shouted "Motown Junk." That wasn't you by any chance was it (I didn't see I just heard the voice.) I've actually still to get a copy of Motown Junk, I've only heard it on the live Millenium tape. I've still to hear just about anything that isn't on an album (except of course "Masses against the Classes")
The title of this one came of an album track of an album I bought yesterday. I think this tracks actually better than some of the singles off it. It might be my favourite song at the moment (mainly for the lyrics above, the fantastic drum intro, the punishing vocals and the ridiculous piano twinklings.)
See ya (literally this time.)

Ah, the Belle & Sebastian debate. I'll admit that they're not the best thing to listen to if you want loud moshing music but if ever you're in a quiet frame of mind then they are amazing. And for some reason I remember their lyrics easier than any other band (the above quote is from Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying off the If You're Feeling Sinister album. It's a bit long, sorry).
It wasn't me who shouted Motown Junk, sadly; although I did get stopped by a very drunk ned halfway through You Love Us who incredulously asked me how I knew all the words, then looked me up and down, said "I like your style. Cool as f***" and staggered away. Then reappeared at the start of If You Tolerate This gabbling that it was her favourite song.
I don't know if I'm going to the meet-up now cos mum isn't too keen: she's very wary of these things. She watches Coronation Street too much. So I might not see you. But I am desperate to go to Gig On The Green now (King Adora just announced as playing the Main Stage on Sunday!). I don't know if I'll get there either though bcos I can't find someone my mum considers a "responsible adult" to go with me (the only real candidate is my aunt, who happens to be in Portugal that weekend).
I don't know about the GSC, but I'd bring cash for drink: it always comes in handy .
So I'll maybe see you on Saturday, but if not then have fun !

Ok, that's the REST of the B&S quote, it wouldn't all fit in (I realise that AFTER i've posted it..)
"...you want me, well come and f**king find me, I'll be waiting with a gun and a packet of sandwiches..."
Sick Bob. (Most recent incarnation of the Dark Lord Cyclops. Still lord and master of the Anti Squirrel League and Keeper of c Posted Jul 21, 2001
Hi there,
Did you try and go to the meet-up then? I went but there was no-one there so i just came home. Kinda annoying.
My mum watches too much of "Corrie" (eewch) as well. Not that it affects my life at all but it really annoys me when there is something good on TV. (or at least something that isn't so bloody patronising!)
I've never been a big B&S fan but I do have to admit that those are quite good lyrics.
As for the ned you wondered how you knew the lyrics; It's not as if they're that complicated. It's just the title of the song repeated twelve times (sometimes without the "us") in the chorus, and two short verses. ou think that they'd of picked up the gist of the chorus the third time round at least. (although these are neds, they've probably never heard music with lyrics before.)
I completely understand through. I got stared at for singing "Motorcycle Emptiness." You know I never considered that a song you could mosh to, I'd always placed it in the really cool relaxed rock section, but I guess a crowd that's been waiting for so long will mosh to anything. (I even saw that most of us tried at the start of "Let Robeson Sing" before realising that it was just ridiculous.) ;-/
It's been an interesting weekend though. I went to see "Ginger Snaps" last night and it was very good. Sick, twisted and quite disturbing but (sticking to my name) I was one of the sick b*st*ds who couldn't stop laughing all the way through it. Afterwards, our crowd of friends agreed to do this again and went to do one of those "hands in a circle" agreements when a severely drunk tramp wanders over and starts talking to us. No-one else agreed that since he stood in the circle, we should have to bring him too next time. I think that we need a drunken lunatic to liven up a night out. Well over than me that is.
Oh, in case I didn't mention before, by "Origin of Symmatry" by Muse. It's fantastic. There is not a bad song on the whole thing.
