thanks
I was at a party last night - now they tell me they saw a bit of it.
(this from girls who play "looking for predetors in the living room" - they make poo and bits of remains of prey animals then they go on safari)

Last night was a bit like any 'first episode of a new show', a lot of scene setting and stuff, but I'd imagine it'll warm up in the next few weeks, at the minute with all the brand new people in our lives I for one am not too sure about who I like best and where they're going - not even sure who's going to be the hero (if anybody) but it's looking good so far.
Little girls eh - it was only 2 summers ago my daughter was fossil hunting by the kerb in the village - sitting on the kerb with a little pick and a pastry brush - unearthing - well, old bottle tops and the likes ...... Time Team it ain't.

well my two (avid Stargate / Dr Who watchers) love it. To be precise they are enjoying it as a gap filler until Dr Who gets back.
For me it is typical TV which is written with a specific type of audience in mind. and (with the exception of Prof Cutter) if you're over 20 and especially if you're a highly specialised special forces soldier, you're obviously wrong about everything.
It's fun though.

Well tell me this - did you not think - his wife must be back and forward pretty often because she had her hair streaked.

Yeah, and considering she's been away for 8 years the clothes are holding up pretty well too
I find little things like that really annoying on an otherwise very entertaining show.

You know what'll make you laugh........I have no idea of any of their names - I just look at the pictures and follow the story.
I really like the dark haired bloke and who fancies white haired girl and went into the tunnel last week, but survived - you know who I mean. He may or may not be Steve.
No I don't think we're being pedantic, if you're going to spend that much money on making a decent series you may as well put a bit of thought into it and get it as right as it can be IMO.

Being a USian, I can't see the program -- yet!
This discussion reminds me of the last time I went to a scifi film with a group of friends who work as RL rocket scientists. The talk over dinner after the film was priceless!
Guy next to me managed to gasp out "They've got Mars rotating the wrong direction!" during the film, very audibly. I had to use my elbow, on that one.

Steve
I get the impression that she had been popping back and forth - because apart from the hair, make up and clothes, she had a very unbattered looking flask (and how did she make tea or whatever was in it?) and her teeth are fantastic.
But that didn't really bother me. Against my expectations I'm enjoying this - probably because I'm not discussing it endlessly online (as I have for other things) and the Gruesomes love it. And then there's Steve how yummy did he look in a wetsuit?

Must be getting old, I think I prefer the grumpy Scot to the pretty boy.
What did that mean though? About Helen being important to him too?
Thermos worried me too but I'm still annoyed by episode one when the kid got told off for messing up his room when it must have been blatently obvious from the broken glass inside the room that he wasn't to blame.

well the whole thing is plain daft (not to say ripping off every other sci-fi thing that has gone before, in true sci-fi fashion )
But I like my boys pretty, and my men grumpy. So I'll just take both of them, thank you very much

Stephen = James Murray - the sensible TV mag editors have slapped pictures of both him and Douglas Henshall on tonight's page (they must be reading here)
*waves*
Ooh, Fame Academy to at first, then Primeval

Does anyone else watch Stargate? Even my son yelled out "He's a Go-ah-uld"
Stephen ~really~ likes the Zoe Ball clone doesn't he?
Key: Complain about this post
