Bob that's great! I clicked on the links and the google map loaded just fine for me, and I don't see why you can't have those links in your entry! Well done, great idea!

Hello I am realy pleased you like the idea, I hope that it will improve thr readibility and keep researchers on our site without going off to find things such as maps and referances to location.

just one question was highlighted by FLORIDA SAILOR is can we directly use google

eg; to say go to google maps, or enter this in the google search bar, or the map referances are google code.


and/or also useing google in the coded links as below

eg; Seleucia Pieriae

without permission from google will this result in licencing or copyright issues, it is interesting wikipedia use map referances but do not appear to link to sites such as google and the last thing we want is issues.


Do you know or can you tell me who to ask please or forward this to our experts

I have for for the sake of good form hidden (and to be on the safe side I have e-mailed the post the link to googles T & C's and copyright conditions as well) all links on site better safe than sorry if you want them reinstated I can do that or send it to e-mail in document form for review/testing.

I have left the co ordinates on the winchester hill entry and removed googles name.

I am notsure if the co ordinates are universal or google derived if they are google system I can change them to OS standard map refs
