It was the writing competition you, Pinniped and Skankyrich ran back in 2009, and it ranks as one of the best things I've been part of here on h2g2.

Anyway, long story short, I'd like to revive it. I'm getting back in the Comms Team saddle, and think it would be a great way to pitch the site to new writers. I might even see if I can stretch to a prize (probably book tokens or something).

Given that Pin and Rich have both Elvised, you're the only judge remaining. I'd be delighted if you'd like to reprise your role as a judge, although I'll understand if you don't have the time/inclination to go over old ground. I'd probably ask either Pastey or Dmitri to take the third seat, unless you have any better suggestions?

So, what I've taken far too many words to say is this. Would you help me run a 2013 edition of The Stretcher? And if you can't, do you mind if I go ahead and run it with three new judges?

Hi Mr603, indeed I do remember. One of the upcoming articles featuring on the FP in the "Topical entries" tab will be A51724217, which was born of The Stretcher and an example of some of the finest writing I have ever read here.

It's a great idea to revive it, and I'd love to help but I'm afraid my Guide Editor duties take up all my online time, I am also in great demand IRL with my mother's situation.

I'll eagerly watch out for what comes to pass. I created A47168553 the Stretcher Hall of Fame, last time. It'll be a tough job to follow that! You have my blessing to choose the judges you wish to and I'm honoured you thought of me.
