I would like ideas as to what I could "go fishing" for....other than fish.....I do keep an aquarium in which guppies breed, so I wouldn't want to "fish" for any living creatures....Your ideas and thoughts on this subject would be most welcome

Well there's always the expression "fishing for compliments" but I suppose you mean something more tangible than that?

I have on occaision spend many an hour fishing for split washers in a gearbox - made more difficult by the fact that the oil is not transparent and there was some doubt as to how many washers had fallen in .

Ideally you could fish for shopping trollies and traffic cones, as these silly beasts seam to get themselves trapped in just about every canal I've been past in the last 10 or so years...

May I enquire, what do you DO in the canals??
