EXPO2000
Posted Jun 16, 2000
OK, I've been there, and I had a GREAT time! No matter what others say (specially the press, etc.) I enjoyed every minute of my stay (2 days). My wife and I just strolled along and garbled every impression into our memory. Specially the international flair and the openess of everybody flooded us with delight. Wandering around the different pavillons and scooping up bits of other cultures is a great pleasure. Getting into contact with other (happy) people, being inspired by arts and sound, music and performances, simply enjoying the day. Ah! Marvelous! I'd recommend a visit to everybody! Only thing to complain about: Prices of food and beverages. It's close to robbery! Any other opineons?

Chocolate Chip Cookies

What a great invention (or was it a discovery?)! They pamper your taste buds on your tongue, the chocolate melts, the crunchy sensation between your teeth... Sorry, got to go to get another cookie...

Tfying to make yourself some work
Posted May 30, 2000
Oh brother... almost everyone in our office is out at external projects. The building seems completely empty. Therefore I get no calls, and I get the feeling that I don't have anything to do (allthough my tasklist is full). What a terrible situation! You really have to get a grip and start those todo's. Boy how I hate that!

Funny Fate

Had a friend over for the weekend and at night went out to a bar in Stuttgart. Since Me and my wife haven't spemt to much time in nightlife here, we are quite new to the scene and the chance of meeting someone you know is drastically low.
After a wile of good conversation (considering the volume of the musik) and a couple of caipirinhas our guest (from Augsburg) starts screaming over my left shoulder at someone behind my back, exactly the same moment someone behind my back yells into my left ear.
To get to the point: our guest from Augsburg met someone here in Stuttgart who also was a guest here (visiting his brother, as we found out later, who thinks that Stuttgart stinks and is a lousy rats hole...)
It shows again, that Germany is just a small place...
