Frida is somewhat pedigree. She is pure scottie but she doesn't have papers and I don't really care much about that pedigree stuff, exhibitons and such. I wanted her for company and anyway, her mother belongs to my brother. They often play together.

Mine is a bastard, her name is Lou. She was named after a song of Lucio Battisti "Luci aaah", it's about a girl who goes wild on a feast day. It's a lovely song. And so is my dog, a beautiful and intelligent girl.

Yes, I do. I'm crazy about her too. I think she likes me as well.

Sometimes I am quite unpopular. Like if it comes up to brushing her. But usually we are the best friends, too.

I sometimes brush her outside during our walk on the dike along the sea. In between the throwing and kicking of the and Lou chasing it and bringing it back just to alternate the boredom of brushing with some exitement. I think it's healthy for her getting the air and wind on her skin. Or I combed her outside on the balcony where she can growl at the dogs passing by.
are always the best reward for a dog's patience with the brush.

Ah, even the foreign dogs have strange tastes
It's a beautiful day here, snow and sunshine. Yesterday it snowed all afternoon, I read in the paper that the councils have run out of the salt they sprinkle the roads with Also many broken limbs due to slippery pavements.

We have had some terrible traffic accidents in past few days. I don't know if they were weather related in any possible way but some people got killed.
But the weather was brilliant here too. Even too bright.

I cannot help it that I smile when I read in the newspaper the statistics of injuries when there is frost, or there is heavy wintery weather. These people at the newspaper must have a fascination with statistics. 'Right, frost. YOU, tomorrow you phone the first-aid at the hospitals and ask how many! You, overthere, get in touch with the railways and ask how many delays there where'. The weather being a news item of importance. It's also that we have to keep up an international reputation as a skating country, you know, well no you probably don't, the hysteria around the Elf Stedentocht in 'Fryslân'. There are not so many winters with real frost. But if there is one you see many trying to skate on the ice in the channels in the city, with or without chairs to aid them. A few days later you can read in the newspaper how busy it was in the hospitals with people coming in with broken joints. I know it's mean to I wouldn't dare to go on the ice myself.
Right, I'm off again. I know you have a busy day today.

The busy part is done by now but I am very tired. I am not that well yet. I'll take an early tonight, I hope. At least that's how I feel.

As usual. Winter has gone. Wet, windy and grey today. I've got to do some cleaning and nothing else, really.
I might take the dog for a long walk, she's getting a bit fat after these last weeks of with me not having wish for staying out long.
Vaccuum cleaning first, methinks.

Here we seem to get only more winter which is unfair. The blizzard out there makes everything so depressive. Too much snow. Too cold.

Yes, I'm thinking of migrating south soon. Last night on telly I heard the question one should ask oneself is what has one to offer to the country of one's choise? Well, the answer is 'nothing' really, but my question is what has the country to offer me? If it's sun, beautiful surroundings and a calm life, I'm more than happy to settle myself there. I can clean toilets in any country, why do it in hectic, overcrowded, noisy and depressed Holland?

You have a point there. I am not ready to move from here though. I have considered that seriously and decided that it's not the time yet. Not yet.
This time of the year I am ready to move to any warm place though.

I'm not off yet. It will take a time before I'll be establish, I expect. I'll try to stay in France for a while to polish up my language skills. Well, that's about the only thing I've got to offer my new home country. In a few years I'll send you the message to come over and stay for a while. I'll organise a Lissabon meet!
