Dreary Desert

Gray two days in a row. It's a rare experience here in the New Mexican Desert. New Mexicans generally brag about our 300 days of sunshine a year and for good reason, it's true. Then, once in awhile you get an entire day of rain. Appreciated, but those sunny days sure feel good. And this is most definitely a place that can use all the rain it gets and it makes good for the higher elevation ski resorts.

But I love the sun.

Foothills of the Sandias

A bit groggy this morning. I'm supposed to go and watch the NFC and AFC playoffs today. Not really interested. Think I may find myself in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. They lie on the eastern edge of Albuquerque. There is plenty to do there; bike, hike, picnic, catch a sunset. The weather has been nice and if you find yourself on the top of a small rise you can see for miles beyond the city. If you sit still for awhile there is plenty of wild life to catch sight of. Deer, jackrabbits, prairie dogs. Rare birds if you are quiet and lucky enough.

Southwest

Another beautiful day here in the Southwestern portion of these United States. Cooler than yesterday, but as has been said by many, it's better than New York.
