I think you're right about me hurting the phone. Same as with my modem. Everytime I try to connect to the Internet, the modem screams as if in sheer agony. Must be something with the lines. Maybe they highered the amps, so that the poor things get electricuted everytime I make a call.

Ive made a ickle wickle cotton wool bed for my modem......so it can recover more quickly.

Yes, well, I can't stand the screaming from the tortured little thingy. I guess I shall have to stop Internetting and disconnect the thing and place it somewhere soft and dark and quiet for a year or so.

Strange, my modem used to scream the place down but then I changed service providers and it seems much happier now.
