Deep breath
Posted Aug 21, 2000
*sigh*
Been down too long... so much work one could hardly breathe...
Finished a couple of big project, have stabilized on my new web developer half-status, and I think things are going to quiet down for a bit... thank goodness...
So what's been up... hmmm... went on a dinner cruise thing with my entire company Saturday night... very nice, took us around Manhattan, down to the Statue of Liberty, and lots of booze was served. If you know anything about my company, you'd understand... We work very hard, but I sincerely believe we play much harder... I brought as my lovely date, Bumblebee... please feel free to visit her and say hi on her user page... ummm... Went to an amazing double-header where the Mets creamed Colorado... The Mets are on fire... now, if we could only beat Atlanta...
Oh, and importantly I've turned a new leaf... I'm being more healthy these days... getting up and running every morning, eating better, vitamins, the whole deal... This has been going on 4 weeks now, and I feel great... Woo hoo...

United can bite my....

Grrrr.
Well, my trip was lots and lots of fun. Except... well, the last bit.
Recap:
Friday night Big Tony and I arrive in OHare, are wisked away by my friend Amanda who I haven't seen since graduation. After a brief look around her place and a deep breathe we went out and hit the town and called up... KRISSY LEE! And in a crowded bar filled with folks we found each other pretty easily, considering my lame description: "Ummm, I have brown hair... I will be drinking beer"
And then the lot of us had some fun, recited simpsons until crying, and alcohol was consumed.
Next day I did the touristy thing, went up the sears tower, sought out blues brothers/ferris beuler landmarks, went out for yummy dinner and margaritas and then went to a party where I pretended I was a good friend of the host (which I wasn't) "Oh, yeah, we go way back..." Then more drinking and bars... *sigh*
Sunday, baseball... Wrigley Field... Man, now that's a ballpark... I even got invited to one of the rooftop baseball clubs for a bit... very cool... The cubs won And I decided that if I lived in Chicago there is no doubt I would be a Cub fan.
So that night we went to the airport at 8, an hour before our flight (this is where the bad part starts) and it wasn't until midnight they decided to tell us the flight was cancelled. so there we were stuck in chicago... luckily they put us up in a hotel, and the next day we got on the 9 flight to NY (only a half hour late)... so I'm a bit tired and late for work today... *sigh* Oh, and we did get $200 travel vouchers... which is nice but hey it means I'll have to fly United again.... grrrr

And away I go
Posted Jul 21, 2000
So tonight I'm off on a plane to the great (albeit 2nd) city of Chicago... Fly in, see friends, see a baseball game, fly out on sunday.
And here's the interesting part:
I might just get to see a certain researcher... hmmm? Of course I may not... big city and all...
Reports will be had upon my return...

it's raining weathermen
Posted Jul 20, 2000
This is a perfect example of my life:
It was a beautiful day, the sun was shinign and it was warm. My co-worker and I had to take another co-worker out for lunch because she won the mets/yankee series bet *sigh*. We walk around the corner, have lunch towards the back of the restaurant and as we walk to the front at the end of our meal we realized we were iin the middle of a torrential downfall. already 30 minutes late, we decide we better just run through it back to the office. Of course we are drenched by the time we get there and as we are standing in the elevator who do you think walks into the elevator completely dry with an umbrella and a smug smile on his face?
A guy from the Weather Channel (they are two floors down from my office).
He then proceeded to laugh at us and recommend watching next time...
*sigh*

Busy Spaceboy
Posted Jul 11, 2000
Ok ok... so I haven't been here much... but I've been really busy at work, and the weekends I try my hardest to spend away from a computer... So forgive me... but I'm here for a little today, and I will try to be as productive a slacker as possible.
So, the webguy in my department has put in his resignation and now I'm being trained in all that stuff... So I am expanding from my print communications/marketing world... It's cool and all, but I have too much stuff to do otherwise...
I went to the Mets/Yankees game on friday, and as a Mets fan it was a little tough. The crowd was pretty 50/50, but I had field seats (I got connections ) so I just ignored those darn yankee fans... It was even more intense than the game Rocker was at (which I also attended). Everyone in this town were at each other's throats this weekend. Very scary. And don't even get me started on Piazza getting hit in the head...
more to come...
