Hello Earth!
So this is h2g2, quite a good place to think a little bit about life, the universe and erverything...
Let me first talk about Volcano, the place I come from. It's sited between Heidelberg and Frankfurt, Germany. Also called Bensheim. The area is well known as "The Hillsight Road" (german: "Bergstrasse"). It's origins are volcanic - see! The hills rise from the plains of the river Rhine and reach up to over 500 meter (1500 ft). The landscape is very lovely, vineyards change with paddocks, forests, meadows and fruit-growing. The villages used to have old centres with churches and framework houses. Above several castles and ruins wait to be visited. The most famous of all is the Frankenstein Castle of course, with the well-known Halloween party during autumn. This area invites for hiking, jogging, mountain-biking, paragliding, motorcycling, riding and of cause to have the one or other party under open sky, preferably during summer. But also the cold season isn't that cold as in other parts of Germany. So winter sport is only possible during some two or three weeks.
If anyone likes to visit (specially with a british classic car!?), please contact me. I (maintain a MGB GT V8 from 1974 and) could show you the most interesting parts of the Hillsight Road.
