And so you are on the Internet messaging those who are distant, far away from you -- people who are online will accept you more easily and more often. An aquaintance on the Internet is like a friend in the outside world. When I am rejected by online people, I feel the same pain just as though I were rejected by them in the flesh-and-blood.
I do repress, but I am starving. I do not like starving. Starving means that I am lacking the necessities of life. I have gotten used to pain, but I move forward and I keep my hope.
I can write dribble and crap. LOL. But I am brave.
Can you name a type of love that you always feel? You have repressed your need for kindness and affection, but what family member or friend do you always receive kindness and affection from? In your struggle with being anti-social and against agrophobia, do your online friends offer support to help you win against misery?
I sometimes watch movies, pleasant ones or funny ones, to pick up my spirit. You make the right choice by watching a movie to help you improve your mood.

btw - have you seen post 20?
"people who are online will accept you more easily and more often"
Hm. Not really, I only frequent the two websites where I talk to people. The people at one are the kind of people I've never met elsewhere, online or in RL.
This is my second space on hootoo, on my old space a number of people would visit it, who didn'y accept who I was, but rather had formed their own shallow idea of who I was and couldn't accept I was anything else.
"Can you name a type of love that you always feel?"
No. I'm not sure I can... But perhaps I missing the what you mean by the question. Or it's more to do with my currently feeling rather empty and soulless.
"You have repressed your need for kindness and affection, but what family member or friend do you always receive kindness and affection from?"
I don't really recieve any regular affection.
There are people who show me kindness, my GP, my therapist. I trust them more anyone else in my life. I know I can rely on them. There is no-one else I feel able to rely on. There are people I've met online, one of my ex girlfriends, people I know through a fan club are around sometimes, but I can not rely on them for friendship or warmth.
"In your struggle with being anti-social and against agrophobia, do your online friends offer support to help you win against misery?"
I'm not anti-social.
Some try to help in what ways they can.

"By futile do you mean powerlessness or pointless?"
Pointless. Very pointless.
>>>Ahhh, so that is what you mean.
"creature in the position of outsider in a crowd"
That's me.
>>>Good for you! There is a club of us, but we are sectarian and kept apart because we are in our own hell. I am working my way out. You said that you weren't anti-social. I now understand.
"You want to work in a book shop?"
Yep, I don't care if all I do is stack shelves and work on the till. Or if I manage it, or own a specialist sci-fi/fantasy bookshop of my owm. I just want to work around books and book fetishists.
>>>I read Socrates' Dialogs and I frequent the library.
I think books are invaluable, I love books but I only appreciate the medium and not moreso than the authors who write the books. Do you like books for their aesthetic appearance, but you moreso appreciate the author's passion and knowledge that is in them? This may be a silly question, but I ask it anyway.
"For your mind, what would the metaphor be?"
I'm rather forgetful myself. But my mind is an icestorm, cold but passionate, in unpredictable turmoil, changing direction and force all the time, hard and unsafe to navigate through and... so on.
>>>A cold tempest? That can only end because you are the god and in control of that weather. I can imagine Beowulf manoveuring his ship in that.

Neil Gaiman?!
Oh my dear God, I want to see the movie Mirror Mask!
I haven't read any of his books, but I've seen the advertisment for his upcoming movie, Mirror Mask.
I want to see it for sure.
I can't find the right website telling me if Mirror Mask is based on one of his books.
I should read one of his books. I didn't know that he was an author until you mentioned it.

"I like Neil Gaiman! I should read one of his books"
Indeed you should.
"Can you recommend one?"
Neverwhere and Stardust are my favourites of his novels.
Neverwhere is the story of the people that have slipped through the cracks and live in London Below. It was taken from the script to Neverwhere the six part fantasy BBC TV series he created for Lenny Henry
Stardust is a love story and a fairytale.
American Gods is kinda like a serious version of DNA's Long Dark Tea Time Of The Soul.
He's also written some Childrens novels but the only one I've been able to find is Coraline, it's quite dark and slendid.
Smoke and Mirrors is a collection of brilliant and also in some cases quite dark short stories.
The Snadman is a series of graphic novels, ever if you have never cared for or had any interest in comics, even if you think comics are for kids or are to be looked down upon it doesn't matter, once you've read The Sandman you're mind will be blown away, the tales of The Family Endless - Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delerium, are beautifully crafted, filled with truths.
And you can listen to BBC Radio 3's radio play of one of his stories here ---> http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio3_aod.shtml?radio3/thewire

***NOTE OF CAUTION: THIS IS A LONG POST***
************************************************************************
I hope you have Endurance and are a committed reader. Well, you did mention you that like reading. I hope that I don't bore you.
************************************************************************
http://www.neilgaiman.com/exclusive/mirrormask.asp
The above is the link to the Neil Gaiman website telling anyone about his soon to be released movie, MirrorMask. I found the damned link on my h2g2 front page.
About what you recommended:
I would like to read all that you've recommended. I like stories and books enough that reading many stories and many books is no problem to me.
Speaking about comic books:
Comic books are equal to the realm of books. But only if the comic book's story is comparable to the story which is told through books. I like to think that a good comic book is like a good book with many illustrative pictures. I like pictures!
I appreciate Tom Mcfarlane's Spawn.
I want, and I am planning, to write stories with appended pictures. I would also add theme music. The computer and the Internet are the medium for that, or a movie would suffice.
I like how the 19th century novel of Alice in Wonderland had appended pictures to show the reader what the author imagined. I believe that pictures of the novel or of any other type of book helps the imagination of the reader.
Speaking about listening to the radio:
I like listening to stories. I like the radio. I will check out the link that you gave me.
I have been thinking about what you said about wanting to have your own book store. Along with Science Fiction and Fantasy, what other shelves for categories of books will you have? Or I mean, what categories will you have?
Will you have an eclectic collection? I bet you would!
I have a collection of books, DVDs (with a DVD player and TV), CDs, and my radio to fulfill my need to read and hear a story. I now have a small wall of books that reach the top of my bed, which proves to impress people who look at it. My roommate (the girl who sleeps on the other side of the bedroom) was drunk one time and she stumbled to my side and tripped over my small wall of books, which resulted in her falling onto my bed. I was watching, and I laughed at her. HA HA!
I like music very much. I like the fading art of violin music. I feel that what I appreciate is dying and not being rightly replenished. Although *what* I appreciate is disappearing, I give enough attention to make it last a little longer.
I read that you like swordmanship with the katana. Will you teach yourself (once you have acquired the right katana that is carbon steel folded) to be in the way of Bushido?
I like the discipline of Bushido.
..Well what little I know I like.
Now about what you said concerning the Dark Place for books telling of Delerium, Despair, Distress, Discord, Depravity, and Death (I used all D-words, and not all of them are the same that you used ):
I acknowledge that dark place of negative emotion and situations because it is part of the human condition, but I don't pay all of my attention to that dark suffering place. I balance and pay my attention to both light and darkness. I one time used to listen to raving angry music, and I would rave. But I was always in the dark tea time of the soul and depressed. I used to draw dark and contorted pictures with the look of suffering, but I stopped doing that. I now certainly cannot watch stories about angry and mean-spirited ghost hauntings. Yet, I do write about despair and anger. I also watch the Spawn series; and I have watched the movies Brazil and Gormenghast, which I still appreciate.
I was thinking of mentioning Gormenghast to you. Have you read the book or seen the movie? Or have you read the book and watched the movie?
Here is the Gormenghast website link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/gormenghast/
When I saw Gormenghast, I appreciated the struggle of Steerpike.
And I still do.

It isn't just the Niel Gaiman website, it is *his* website... I keep meaning to visit it more often as it has his own personal journal there as well a collection of his writing and othery cool stuff.
I mentioned my love of books that have a certain magic about them and their writing. Niel Gaiman is a writer whose writing seem to never fail to have that magic.
The Sandman volumes are the only Graphic Novels I've read so far, though I'm interested in looking at Hellblazer.
"I want, and I am planning, to write stories with appended pictures. I would also add theme music."
Cool. What do you write? Would you illustrate yourself?
"I like listening to stories. I like the radio. I will check out the link that you gave me"
I've yet to listen in myself. I like radio, but more for factual and topical stuff. I did want to listen to the lastest radio incarnation of Hitchhikers but I kept missing installments of it.
My collection of music, films and books is limited due to a life long lack of money. So only works my favourite artists and authors are in it.
"Will you have an eclectic collection? I bet you would!"
That would be my fondest hope yes.
I like beautiful things, katanas are exquisite, they're a work of art not just weapon. I have a fascination with Japanese and oriental culture.
"I was thinking of mentioning Gormenghast to you. Have you read the book or seen the movie?"
I didn't watch the TV drama didn't really know what it was about at the time and, I've not read the book... Might see if the library has a copy of the drama.
"Now about what you said concerning the Dark Place for books telling of Delerium, Despair, Distress, Discord, Depravity, and Death (I used all D-words, and not all of them are the same that you used ):"
You've lost me here...

So I managed to find Neil Gaiman's website? The one you've been wanting to look at? Well, I am amazing. I have magical powers I barely understand. LOL.
************************************************************************
When I saw the advertisment for MirrorMask,
I thought "What is this?! I like it!".
I then found out who Neil Gaiman is.
The way he presents the story, the way the theme looks, is what I like. The set, his characters, the theme, the way it is - with that look - is what I really like.
************************************************************************
The Sandman? You mentioned this before. Right, I should go where? To the Library to find the books to read them?
************************************************************************
The picture on my website, the website where you saw my photos of the moutains, is of Zosime (a name that is the feminine of Zosimus, a Saint, whose name literally means "Likely to Survive" ). She is a character reflective of ME! Ya ha ha!
You are interested to see what I write? And pictures that I draw? Well, I can show you my works in progress.
I have this one cherished story in which a girl, myself, finds a diary of an 18th century English captain. She is researching to do her thesis, and in her search she finds this fabulous diary. She opens it and starts to read it, and then...
She marvelously manifests in the captain's world. . She thinks what has happened is very cool indeed. Of course, the captain is spooked by her.
The story continues, and there is a plot.
************************************************************************
I like listening to broadcasted stories on the radio. There is a particular story, called the Shepherd, that is broadcasted across Canada during Christmas time, which I greatly enjoy listening to.
************************************************************************
Your lack-of-money situation sounds like my own, which is why I frequent the library or get people to burn CDs for me. I am also a bargain hunter.
************************************************************************
I most certainly hope that you will have an eclectic collection of books in your book store. Yeah man, you would have a world in that book store of yours if you did.
Oh, what colour would you paint the inner walls of the book store? What is your favourite colour? Mine is blue and green. I like the ocean pacific blue (aqua), and I like the light forest green or a green that is barely there.
************************************************************************
I like the kimonos of the Japanese culture. My mom has one, which I liked to feel when I was a kid.
Japanese people are also supposedly very clean people.
I like clean people!
I haven't read anything about Japanese culture, but I've seen anime and the movie "The Last Samuari".
When I was a kid, I watched "Astro Boy", which was the first anime to come to North America!
I also know much about Kamakazee pilots. Kamakazee marvelously means Divine Wind.
There is a Japan Week coming up on the Discovery Channel. TV can be my friend. Well, TV certainly let me KNOW about Neil Gaiman.
Ah hmmm, I also like the look of katanas. I like beautiful things just like you.
************************************************************************
You should check out Gormenghast.
You like fantasy that twists and turns,
so Gormenghast is a read for you.
************************************************************************
>>>"Now about what you said concerning the Dark Place for books telling of Delerium, Despair, Distress, Discord, Depravity, and Death (I used all D-words, and not all of them are the same that you used ):"
I meant books telling about negative emotions or the dark place of the soul that you like reading about, and I labelled these emotions with D-words just like you did.
Actually I have come up with a character named Serenity who is an absolute maniac but with a firm sense of justice. She is an absolute monster that messes with people, in order to make them better, and she laughs at them during the entire process. She is the caring version of the Fury.
This character is actually one person who is part of another. Serenity is the antithesis, but her quality of knowing JUSTICE in the same manner that Socrates understood it is also shared with her opposite. Her opposite is Zosime. The 2 people in one are Serenity and Zosime.
Zosime is not clinical without empathy and insane like Serenity. Serenity is a maniac who experiments on humanity in order to better humanity, while Zosime is empathetic to human beings.
Serenity is total and complete asshole, and I like her. LOL.
*Thanks for messaging me. I enjoy the conversation. *

"The set, his characters, the theme, the way it is - with that look - is what I really like."
I'm guessing the look, the set are down to Dave McKean, he an artist that work with Neil Gaiman on many of his projects, his artwork is dark, beautiful and brilliant.
"The Sandman? You mentioned this before. Right, I should go where? To the Library to find the books to read them?"
The library Graphic novel section should have volumes of The Sandman collection.
They're probably reviewed on Amazon or the like.
"You are interested to see what I write? And pictures that I draw? Well, I can show you my works in progress"
"The story continues, and there is a plot."
Having a plot helps.
"There is a particular story, called the Shepherd, that is broadcasted across Canada during Christmas time, which I greatly enjoy listening to."
As much as I hate Christmas, some of it's little traditions are warming and comforting.
"Oh, what colour would you paint the inner walls of the book store?"
Something fairly neutral, an eggshell colour perhaps.
"What is your favourite colour?"
I wear only black and grey. I like the colours of nature, the greens, the autumnal colours and the colour of a night sky. I have no real favourite colour.
"You should check out Gormenghast. You like fantasy that twists and turns, so Gormenghast is a read for you"
The library has got me a copy of the BBC drama version of it in, so I'll be watching later in the week.
"I meant books telling about negative emotions or the dark place of the soul that you like reading about, and I labelled these emotions with D-words just like you did."
Ah... I was making specific reference to the 7 members of The Family Endless, the Anthropomorphic incarnations of the 'abstract concepts', characters created by Gaiman for The Sandman.
