My condolences. Here's the way I think of it. It helped me alot. George was ready for it. He released a statement to the press saying that he was "doing fine." He was. George was ready, he had no fear, and he's jamming with john. Its a terrible loss for the rest of us, but we will always have a piece of him to listen to anytime we want.

PS the real reason I came to your page is to inform you that we were both born on the same day.

Welcome Strider,
to be perfectly honest, i would prefer George and John jamming in this world...
i'd like to think about it in the same way as you but it doesn't work. Unfortunately.
It's a great honour to me to be born on the same day as famous Aragorn. Did i mention that i once had a rabbit called Frodo that all of a sudden disappeared. I wonder where he left to...

Why thank you, but the honour is mine, Mr. Starkey.
I SAW THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING TODAY! IT WAS AMAZING!

There's nothing to be bothered about it.
Surprisingly, most of the characters were exactly like i imagined them when reading the books (except for Strider -i've always imagined him to be older and without beard - and Samweis Gamdschie. Jackson kept very close to the book, too.
The thing was, there was absoltely nothing surprising anymore and it felt a bit dispassionate.
I wonder how the film felt for someone who has not read the book before...
Legolas was great. What did you think about Galadriel and the gardens of Lothroria?

...cryptic. I really like Lorien, very good set. The thing I didn't quite like about that whole thing is that it was never really made clear that galadrial was the benevolent, loving, caring figure that she is in the book. She seems almost frightening. In some places, destinctly frightening.

in some places destintely frightening. You're right. But as soon as she wasn't frightening anymore she was almost unemotional.
Nevertheless, i like the film, but i wonder if all three films will become a commercial success.
All the best for 2002, Strider
