Thanks for your message - I've been browsing this site for a couple of weeks now and decided NOW was the time to be brave and say hallo to all you guys.

It's all a bit daunting at the moment - but I'm loving the conversations and hope I don't put my foot in it .....

I've already had a bit of a mosey round your page but no doubt I'll be going back and forward until I get the hang of it all. My kids are back home on Boxing Day so they will suss it out if I don't, believe me!!

I noticed you said you were new in your post in 'Children Believing in Father Christmas' thread, that was brave of you, that thread had got a bit 'heated' bit silly really, over someing as enchanting and magical as

Most people on h2g2 are quite friendly, but like any community, we've got the odd few, that are not so friendly, but they are a very small minority.

There's no pressure to this at all I notice you have what we call a 'Keeper Title' in you name tag, I don't know if you noticed while you were lurking that some Researchers have a 'Keeper Title' in their name tags, if you did you might be interested to know there is a 'Keepers Home Page' ~ A441596 (I'm the Keeper of Keepers) If you would like to make you Keeper Title 'official' ( couldn't think of a better word) just let me know, there's no Keeper of Pocket Money or Car Keys. If you don't want to, that's no problem.

Hi Emmily good to hear from you again

I'd been keeping pace with the Children and Father Christmas thread over a couple of days (work is pretty quiet at the mo)and was amazed how strongly people felt about it - still, each to their own - it wouldn't do if we were all the same. Wonder if having children of your own changes your view on these things, who knows ...

I've just had a look at the "keepers" page - wow what a list of things - I'd be happy to make the title "Official" - just let me know what I need to do

Looking forward to really getting to know my way round H2g2 in the weeks to come and thanks for the warm welcome!!

Hi Emmily

I'm sure you won't really remember me but you sent me a welcome message a year ago today! I thought I'd just pop back and say - you made me feel really welcome and I've had a great year in hootoo.

I've made loads of new friends, some of them I've met in RL and some are just on-line buddies, but they've all added a new dimension to my life and I'm afraid to say that I can't quite imagine a hootooless existence now

SO - hope you have a great Christmas and a happy New Year and I'm sure I'll see you around the place from time to time

I am having a great time - it's been a hectic day but I just *had* to pop in here before I go to bed and see if anything's going on - I didn'trealise this time last year quite how addictive hootoo would be
