Beer
Kamorth Started conversation Jan 31, 2006
I'm a 23 year old chick from New Zealand doing a bartending course and I have to do a research project on beer. This led me to a rather old article of yours on the difference between lagers and ales. This accounted for a lot of the first third of my essay, (with a little help from some national geographic articles on ancient egyptians and my own preference for playing a bartender in online rpgs).
I have now hit a brick wall. I need to do a section on brewing, and this is not something, surprisingly, that there is a lot of information on online. So it would seem anyway. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction, as I would like to follow the ale path (I'm a stickler for the past and doing things the "right" way) and what little information I can find seems to be about lagers.
I would sincerely appreciate any help you could offer.
Thanks heaps
Kammy

Hi Kammy,
the ale/lager entry is not mine, I'm afraid. I'm no expert on brewing either (more on drinking beer, I must admit), all I could offer is an article on Homebrewing (A481060), which I once subedited. In h2g2's Edited Guide, there are a couple of entries on beer in general and ale in particular, try the <./>search</.> facility - tick 'Search the Guide' and untick 'Recommended' and 'Guide Entries'.
And I've seen you already contacted Pastey, he's The Expert.
Hope this helps
