Welcome to the Zaphodistas! smiley - bigeyes

btw, your "Evil Overlord" link doesn't seem to be working...

Odd, the link works for me...

I'm planning on treating Zaphodista membership more like signing a petition than membership in a revolutionary faction, by the way. Anyway, glad to be part of the next big anti-lawyer thing. smiley - ok

Have you signed the *actual* petition?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A544943

You can sign it online, but if you feel strongly enough to spend a stamp it's preferred if you print it, sign it and send it in... smiley - ok

Hm. How about if I scan my sig and put the file somewhere on the web? Is that somewhere about average?

That might work, but you'd have to create a link from the petition thread to a guide entry which in turn had an external link to your signature... Which is the sort of palaver we're petitioning about in the first place! smiley - bigeyes

Ah, the catch-22 type of thing. (Is there an eye-rolling smiley somewhere around?) Actually, synchronicitously enough, in less than a week I'll actually be visiting England (primarily Cambridge and London), so theoretically I could do it with actual paper and not pay international postage rates.

Cool. smiley - ok

Your home page doesn't say where you're from, but you might want to get a few other local Guide researchers to sign it at the same time, if that's feasable...?

I'd rather not tell people my street address, which would be required for said endeavour. Anyway, I'm in California (plenty general), so I don't get out to the other side of the pond much. Nice opportunity, this. (Unfortunately, I rather doubt that the BBC would let me transfer my images to the server via floppy.) Is the mailing address for the petition collectors somewhere around here?

Sorry if that was a bit incoherent, it's 4:38 am. Time for bed, methinks.

The mailing address is at the bottom of the petition page, Davius.

I wasn't suggesting you publicise your address - I just thought some of your friends might also be on the Guide...

Sleep well! smiley - zzz

Okay, thanks. I hadn't remembered seeing it there.

Ah. You were a little unclear on that last time, but okay now. I don't think any of my friends are researchers.
