Thought I'd drop by and say hello since we seem to be on so many of the same threads these days.

Of course, even though trying to debate or reason with fundamentalists is basically a no-win situation it can be somewhat entertaining at times, as well as perhaps help others to either find out or remember why this sort of extremely closed minded thinking is so destructive.

That's quite a photo collection you have, az. Thanks for the invite - I'll dig one out and add it as soon as I come across something half-way photogenic.

Sorry about the crossed posting thing. I actually do that a lot, though I have no idea why. Juggling too many multi-tasks at once, probably. (You should see what it does to the work.)

I don't expect to change the mind of any fundie. Equally, I don't intend to let them trivialise subjects that I have spent long, hard hours on either. The sad thing is that the ones we see on here don't appear to have a second neurone to rub against the first one - or if they have, they don't know how. Anything more complex than cut&paste, reading and understanding, for example, is asking way too much.

Well, had a fair bit of experience with Justin the Preacher here (now Pastor W) - Sam and GN seem like small potatoes compared to him, mostly because they are still quite young and haven't yet nutured their hatred of others as much as Justin has. In fact, Justin once stalked me onto another site - w***er. Trying to frighten me, I guess.

The 'az cabal' (won't blind you with the disco lights again so early in the day) developed from this thread F2121986?thread=646783 which basically ended up being a humourous rebuttal to a very intolerant Christian h2g2 researcher who got put on pre-mod eventually, but who then tried to blame ME for it, as I was *obviously* controlling the minds of other researchers - and also the editors - in order to punish her. Hence the joke thread . . .

Gaaaa, people get so overly-modest about their photos. I'm sure you look fab, sweetie. The great thing about the gallery is being able to put a face to the name - I really thought that most people would prefer to remain 'visually anonymous' but it turned out that almost everybody has wanted to be there . . . and has also wanted to see everyone else.
