Day 2 - 24/04/00

Today i've been working on my project for my degree, entitled "How did Mao Zedong's coming to power affect the health of the Chinese nation" or something similar. If anyone has any useful pointers to speed me on my way do let me know! Perhaps when it is finished i'll put it on the guide.

Greeting guidereaders!
I hope that i can be of some use to you.

Today i have just returned fom an Easter Break near King's Lynn in Norfolk. I stayed in the Knight's Hill Village hotel (Best Western) near South Wooton. It was a nice hotel, with a good pool and adequate gym and quite good food. However, the meal was somewhat spoiled by teh presentation of processed cheeses (such as babybel and that awful stuff you get on aircraft!) as the cheeseboard. yum smiley - sadface .

Nearby there are great things to see - if you like ruins and castles!
Castleacre is a small town 5 miles from the hotel and boasts a ruined castle (Motte and Bailey) and a fabulous ruined abbey (must see if you like this kind of thing [Think of Much Wenlock priory but with some buildings still intact]). Also the best Hot-Cross buns that you'll find in the village bakery.
Also, Castlerising, another village nearby, has a fabulous castle. The keep is intact still and you can take very good audio tours around it. The earthworks (ramparts) are very impressive!

Well that's all i have to say about my weekend away in Norfolk. Have fun now!
Pete
