Hello! I was wondering if you'd like to join the Wessex Researchers Group at: A395499 for people who live around the South Coast of England. Go on, you know you want to!

Life in the world of Bluebottle... Hmmm... Well, at the moment I've no internet access - so I'm currently in the Bargate's internet cafe, listening to the arcade machines from Sega World upstairs. It's quite nice here - the computers are quite quick - I just don't want to be charged too much!

Oh yeah, why don't you have Internet access? I never really found out... smiley - erm

I don't have a PC with a modem. The PCs I do have are a little too old for that sort of thing, but still excellent for word processing.
I was using the University's PCs, but they've deleted my user name and password!smiley - grr

Why on Earth did they do that? smiley - grr

Some silly reason like "I'm no longer a student"....

Post 8

Chris Tonks

Well if you're no longer a student, you shouldn't be using their computers, should you? smiley - silly

Post 9

Well, the only reason I'm not a student is because they said "we'll let you be a student if you give us £1,075" and I only had £1.03 in my bank account...

Oh dear... smiley - erm

So what are you planning to do? Try elsewhere or find a job? (Or keep the on you currently have.)

I plan to get a good paid job, and transfer what I've done at Southampton Uni to the Open University, and finish my degree with them, working at the same time.

I just have to wait until January before I can start, so I've got to plan what I'm going to do until then. And where to live. That's the main worry as I get kicked out of my house in 2 months.

Why January? I would have thought September, but I guess it's a different system to usual educational years.

Why are you getting kicked out? Is it your own house, someone else's...?

Post 15

It's a rented house, and the year is up.
The Open University seems to start its year in January, which is convenient as the calender does too, but means a long wait... Oh well...

Ah-hah. Any idea where you're going to move to, then?

Yes. Why years start around September for most educational systems has always been a mystery to me. smiley - erm But yes, it is a long wait. smiley - erm

It seems that I'm going to be in Leeds for a couple of months, after that, who knows. I'd love to live on the Island for the rest of my life, sadly there are no jobs there.

Chris Tonks

Why're you off to Leeds?

Moving's on the cards for me too. Well, in about five years time, admittedly. smiley - winkeye I want to move to New Zealand if possible, but this decision is obviously restricted by job availability. smiley - erm

My fiance's family now live in Leeds and we'll be able to live there for a while rent free - a big advantage when we don't have any money.
