Richard Starkings
I am a comic book creator and publisher living in Los Angeles. I publish comic book font software at www.comicbookfonts.com , my own comic book, HIP FLASK ( www.hipflask.com ) as well as a number of other graphic novels ( www.activeimages.com ). The best selling title in the Active Images catalogue is Comic Book Lettering, The Comicraft Way, which I co-authored. My studio, Comicraft, pioneered digital comic book lettering. I originally hail from England -- born in Ormskirk, raised in West Yorkshire, I worked for a time at Marvel Comics' London offices. While working there, comic book writer John Carnell (who adpated the first three HHGTTG books into comics) introduced me to the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin, which i still practice. I have three children, a beautiful wife and two cats, Peanut and Fudge. At the time of this entry, I am 42.
